this may sound competely stupid...but for some reason i just cant figure out how to repair and/or identify items. I looked all threw the manual and pretty much talked to every merchant type person in the shrouded hills... and i cant seems to figure it out! Im sure its something competely ovious. But hey, i figured i'd ask. Please dont get the wrong idea, im not a newbie gamer. But it seems like arcanum dosent really lay things out for you in a easy understanding why. Thats just my idea, i still love the game. I've just found certain things pretty frusterating.

In Shrouded Hills, Ashbury, Tarant, and Caladon, there are Wise Women who will identify items for you. Don't buy the scrolls; they're a rip-off.

Many smithies and junk dealers will repair items for you if you ask. Problem is, some of them are more skilled than others. Stick with the dwarven smith and junk dealer in Tarant, Mrs. Cameron in Black Root, and Maxim in Caladon. DO NOT let the dwarven smithy in the Wheel Clan repair your items, he's completely incompetent. Must be a joke, the inept dwarven smithy.

You could also learn repair yourself if you are so inclined.

I believe that the dwarven smith in Tarant is only an apprentice at repair. He'll damage your stuff a lot. Go to Liam's mom or the junk dealer, they are both experts.

The smithy can reliably repair items up to 80 points. If your stuff is being damaged it's probably because the item in question had more than 80 points. I don't recall specifically about the junk dealer, but his skill is similar to the smithy in my casual estimate. Then again, I don't often have items with more than 80 points, so I just may not have noticed.

Nah, that's easy. Just put it on Virgil and give him a Pyro Axe. There will be broken bits of armor and Virgil-Limbs flying all over the place in no time.

I'm not sure about that. Virgil is a lot less durable than the armor.

Not Vergil, Geffeory. Higher MA, lower mele skill & DX. Give him a pair of Charged Rings & the Eye Gear too.

Equip the dread armor. Boost damage resistance as high as you can. Buy MANY potions. Find a rock sprite. Wait.

Or.... you just simply dump it in the fire infront of the mysterious cave with the fire elemental in it. I once dropped a weapon there because I crit failed and it just kept on ticking down to nothing.

I suppose that that fire in front of Dernholm castle might do the same thing, too. It always burns that knight.

Many have reported seeing him camly burn to death, one person reported seeing his armor burn away before the guard died. The funny thing is, it will happen in the daytime when the fire is out.

maybe they were too lazy to make graphics and the only place I see black people fitting in a Victoroian era is as slaves but then that would be racist.
