Sometimes, in this great, big world, I feel lonely and misunderstood. That's why I've composed this haiku:

    The world is great, big
    I'm alone, misunderstood
    Here is my haiku

Just in case that didn't brighten your outlook by about 1500 lumens (the AMERICAN measurement of a light's intensity), here is another:

    Read this haiku now
    Your world will become brighter
    So you will not frown

And finally, to really showcase my talent as a poet I'd like to present this masterpiece for your enjoyment:

    I am a great poet
Most people do not know this
    But I am still great

I do not invite your criticism, but I will bring your attention to the title of this thread and say, "I am SO right." You have read this far and have therefore proven the point that you couldn't help but read this -- "this" could also refer to the title of the thread, and therefore anyone who is literate and so much as glances at the title of the thread has proven my point. I am SO right.

I don't wish to rain on your parade, but the actual SI unit for light intensity is the Lux, not the Lumen.

Actually, that is a false conclusion. Just because people DO read it doesn't mean that they HAVE to. Infact, there is absolutely NO way to guarantee people have to so the statement is infact a true falsehood and can be no other way.

I think you'll find that most people will read this and reply just to annoy you. :p

BTE, Haiku tends not to be very much appreciated on this board. Bad experiences so I gather, along with the fact that Haiku is absurdly annoying at times.

Write me a haiku about Slash from Guns 'N Roses and I'll think about not hating you.

    Does this suck alot

    OR

    What the f*** is that
Just some c*** on the car roof
    Clean it up right now

Oh, and being the nice person I am I just thought I'd point out that the fourth and final option in your poll is just stupid, since you can't actually vote twice. But then you know that right?

Haiku's are just dull. Now show your literary talent by by composing a sonnet. I love sonnets. :D

Actually, haiku's are supposed to follow a particular pattern. I'm sure you, Chupa Chups, in all your infinite wisdom, know this already, and you're just "bucking the system", so to speak, but I'll lay out the rules for making haiku anyway.

Haiku's are to have 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second line, and 5 in the last line. It seems a couple of your "haikus" followed this pattern, the rest did not.

Chalupa Chode, if you're going to post some haikus, make them actual haikus and make them more interesting than saying that you're so great and how this hiaku is so great.

You cannot sleight my work, Demosthenes, Ferret, retard. It is ABOVE you all. It is not above a slight finishing touch, though, and that I have made (there is a change at the bottom of the initial post, as well). gargob, keep working at it and you may one day be as great as I. EvilEyesBan, I have composed a haiku in honor of Slash from Guns 'N' Roses. Learn to LOVE, EvilEyesBan, and you will learn to LIVE.

    Slash plays rock music
    He plays his instrument well
    Sometimes, he is brash

You're also missing the entire point of haiku's, Sucky Suck. They're supposed to have hidden meanings in them, not just say meaningless crap in a fancy form. So, technically, what you've been writing aren't haiku's. Ain't that great?

I'd just like to point out that the middle line of this haiku is 8 syllables, which would make it, well, not a haiku. My cat is currently trying to steal my chicken salad sandwich, so I must depart!

Janitor, perhaps you haven't considered that the meaning is hidden from you and that is why you haven't found it.

And you just called Jarinor, Janitor.

And stop writing haikus and write a sonnet!

I'm pretty sure that was intentional Vamp...it's been done before, and quite frankly, if that's the best Chiquita "Chupa Chup Chlamydia" Cobbler can do, I'm not worried.

If he does write a sonnet, it should also be in iambic pentameter.
