Talk to king Preator in Dernholm, he will ask you to retreave his taxes from black root. Only after accepting to do this will Dante join you. When you return King Preator hog the credit unless you want Dante to stay with the king.

 

If you don't collect the taxes dante will stay in your party and not count againt your charisma.

 

Dante is one of the free followers! Collect the taxes, he'll remain no problem.

BUT

before he joins you, you have to have a free slot, so have someone wait, then get dante, then have him wait, get the other one then get dante again. all is set then.

I believe you have to do the same with Thorvald on the ISLE but some say you don't!

To get jormond you have to do like dante, just have the free slot available
by having someone wait.

For Thorvald, be level 22 or better, do not be a Gnome, & have three persuasion.

I am still trying to get both him & the quest to tell his clan about him at the same time.

 

I believe they're mutually exclusive - if he's coming with you, then you don't need to tell the Clan, and if you promise to tell the Clan, he's obviously not coming with you. Sorry, Shady, it just ain't going to happen, it's one or the other.

All I saw is a way to abuse the game into getting free followers, and the requirements for getting Thorvald. Nowhere was it mentioned that he leave once you get in the mine. How could I guess that you left him outside. :razz:
