Well I am from a small town in Tennessee and I have NEVER seen brother-sister marriages or anything. Dang stereotypes.

 

As in many other things, it seems that stereotypes are reversed in Australia...coming from 'up north' is more likely to generate thoughts and suspicions of incest...ditto from 'the outback'. Maybe it's got something to do with the equator and the poles?

 

... Or maybe it's got something to do with... banjos...¹

Well apart from those strange segments of Florida, I personally consider everything east of Arizona and south of DC to be Deep South.
