If some people still consider me a n00b, can I at least be considered an erudite n00b?
Besides, even if my post count isn't so high, I still come here at least once a day, more when I'm bored.

Yeah...I think I speak for all when I say Sheriff and Milo are sorely missed around here. The past two months really have been abysmal post-wise, and we haven't had a real scapegoat since Hel Khat/Eros.

I suppose I wasn't around in the real 'old days', Ioo/Bortis style...but I have been here for quite a while, at least when T-A was a fairly busy place, when the 'vets' were still around. To give you some indication, J, Jinxed has always been a tightarse since I've been here  .

There's only one thing more depressing than a dead forum - a dead forum that used to be alive. If we all just kept in touch now and then, we could restore T-A to its past....ah....glory? No, not glory....umm...

Been on the mountain without a tv, watch, internet conection or a mobile thelephone fo some days now, there has been a tick layer of snow and 20+celcius in the shadows. Been sitting on the ice fishing and drinking cider or skiing, and loving every second of it. I did not miss any of you upp there. ;) (nor did i miss the tv or anything else) It is so quiet upp there, i love it, nothing else than you and your suroundings, not one sound. You will have to try it someday.

You lucky bastard. Still, I don't have to deal with the negatives of those sorts of conditions, like things freezing up, being snowed in, frostbite, hypothermia, all those sorts of things.

You know that there are many vampires, hunters, Garou and the like who would love to destroy you. You go out of your way to prepare contingency plans, vary your movement patterns and habits, and otherwise make yourself a difficult target. As a result, you are less likely to be attacked unawares.

    Good bye!

( no replies are neededand in fact are discouraged )

Posts by you are no longer needed, and are in fact discouraged as strongly as possible. Way to fuck up my thread by going completely off topic for absolutely no fucking reason (or reference that I can see) you shit eater.

Wow... I wish I had joined this forum back in those days, but sadly, I'm still just a worthless n00b. I've been to many boards in the past, and many people still remember me, even some who I never heard of. I miss the old days of the forums I used to regular as well.

A good example would be the G4 forums... how I loved that board. I met so many good people, but those days died after our forum was over-run by spammers and flamers. After awhile, I decided to move on. I couldn't take the nonsense and immaturity any longer. I ventured to the FFInsider boards and while fun, it didn't seem like the place I desired.

I then started searching for smaller forums, joined many, yet still never found what I had hoped for. Now I've found this board. It may have only a few members, but the ones who remain here, I find to be very funny and respectable. I hope to get to know most of you. This board may be the place I have been searching for.

I may be a mere apprentice, but I hope I am given a chance here and become a regular over time.

Damn you people sound old

Pheh, even if you are a dying breed (I'm relatively new, so I'm not one of the cool people -yet-) you can still make the best out of it.
Then those sorry asses will come crying back to you, begging to be your friends again!
    Mwahahaha!

My "old" IRC Channel had like a 2 year time when we got flooded so much that we got sick of dealing with it and switched channels and everyone got out of college and stopped IRCing. Now a lot of us are back online, talking about our kids (not me, I don't have any) and stuff like that.

So take heart, there's always hope for a revival.

-- One more female on the forum. Coolness factor yet to be decided ;)

I'll sound as old as I please!

Making you people wonder about my age is fun!

I think that makes you about the 6th or 7th publicly acknowledged female on the forum. I may have missed a couple. So yeah, you're more welcome than some of the others who have been showing up lately.

Edit - Double the amount of females if you consider each of Eros Rex's incarnations a separate woman. Or just double it anyway if you consider him a woman.

I could be a woman. It's hard to see due to the beard and all though...

    Persephone, welcome to the forum!

Tiss me...wait, you already know who I am, from my name...guess I don't need to tell you who I am...

Heh, and I remember this was the very first forum I've ever gone to...

Howdy Folks, and thanks to all who said welcome (or in Jar's case a more guarded version, which, based on some of his more *ahem* friendly *ahem* posts I take as a welcome ).
Yeah, I'm used to being the only girl, what with being a role-playing female. It's nice though, cause I hardly ever have to kick in for the beer when we game. And when I go into the local gaming shop, I always get service with a smile. And I guess I'm allowed to go naked cause I have a big viking (as described by the arcanum IRC channel) husband so that makes me "cool" instead of "slutty". I've been taking notes. It's still too cold to go Naked in fabulous Merryland though.

Drug- I think I'll respect the dwarven code and not further inquire as to the status of your sex.

About that whole Noobie thing... can I have a bonus 20 posts for the fact that I've been in the IRC channel for like a year now...? T-A was down when I first tried to join, so I went and IRCed instead and never checked back until now... I feel cheated out of my nifty icon...

*sigh* Guess I'll just have to find scintillating topics of conversation and post lots of insightful things. Though since this board doesn't have a score like Slashdot, I guess insight is optional.

*cracks knuckles* hey, I actually did it. Now I'm a real man, just like Daddy and Grandma.

Anywho, the forum I've just scampered from was/is labouring under a similar problem. I'd been a member there two years and a moderator one (believe me, clear distinction over there, moderators had it made. Posting privileges, allowed images in sigs, customs titles, heated massage chairs in our own personal forum, the whole shebang) and I went with through a lot of changes with the forum (Puberty, learning how to spell "beautiful" long walks in the summer and hot chocolate in the winter, or was that Frank? I forget) and I used to look back with that sickly-sweet nostalgia to those former times, when Friv' was still around, the good times in Twist's tavern, thousands of people jumping out of the closet in a top hat and tails singing cabaret numbers and hundreds of arguments, flame wars and down-right dirty kiddy-porn humour.

I must admit I was blind to what we "Oldbies" were doing to the forum, our constant reminiscing and references to "better" times were driving new life from the forums. As I look back I can see various people I were quite short with could have probably evolved into being fairly decent forum members *sigh* eventually it's all going to self destruct, especially without me there.

Where was I? Oh yes, try to make new good times instead of wishing for the old. New members will come but only one-in-a-hundred will be the gem in the slag heap how to speak (And you've got a real doozie in me, let me tell you) so don't drive 'em off.

    Yep, listen to the newbie...

Oh dear GOD! I'm a freakin' NEWBIE?! no, no, no this CANNOT be happening, I refuse to permit it! I'm DkLegion aka Octillicus, the Babbling Looney! Permanent old-timer and keeper of forgotten lore... *sniff* I miss SFC...

Damn, guess I kinda lost my point, ho humm. Who wants to go roll naked in butter with me?

It's official. I like him. Oh, and about all the newbie/oldbie stuff, everyone is kinda taking it outta context. But I do apologize for pissing and moaning about our losses, while not commenting on the up-and-coming regulars. .... who are regulars already,.... awwwfuckit

Anyway, I'm sorry, everybody stay, Snowmane and Persephone, take off your clothes, and post pictures of your naked bodies smothered in honey in the forum.

    Please?

Well, it's not like threads like these pop up all the time. Doesn't even pop up in posts very much, although it does happen from time to time with a "I wish person X was here" or "Remember when..." and that's pretty much it.

We get new members cycling through here all the time, usually for a few months, then they disappear. Some stick around longer or shorter than others, but generally most last around 500 posts before disappearing quietly into the night.
