The Bards Tale 3 on the C64, that game rocked my childhood, i can still remember the cheat to get a lvl 35 char by taking a char with 0 exp and beating tarjan, the first major "boss", with that char in the party...... aaahhhhh, the good old days, i'll think i'll go check out some abandonware sites and see if i can get it again.

You mean 3 1/2 inch floppy, right?

Anyway, I remember something called Jane of the Jungle and Jack Jackrabbit that I loved a whole lot when I was young....

You used to play that? What level did you get up to? The highest I EVER got on it was level 01010100101010.

Got 'em both. Shareware versions only though. Especially liked Jill of the Jungle (Not Jane of the Jungle. Also, it's Jazz Jackrabbit). She was H.0.T.

Still got one in the old 486 too :D

I got up to level 01010110110101010 on the original game.

On the expansion punch card, I got up to 101000100101010101001 before one of vacuum tube banks overheated. Too bad I wasn't able to work the hole puncher fast enough to save my game.

No. I had a tape drive until last year on some computer that I had. 5 1/4's aren't THAT old compared to some other stuff. 286, 386 and 486 computers all commonly had them.

    Response

No, you aren't, that just means that you are a total geek, having used a computer when they really weren't incredibly useful.

If you remembered punchcards, however, you are THAT old.
Are you actually being serious about that? If you answer yes, I won't believe you anyway, just asking. I have never seen anything more than really simple programs, like basic math done with punchcards, because they are a little (a lot) before my time.

You got the expansion card? That was too expensive for me back then. Did you get the second expansion as well or didn't you bother replacing the burnt out vacuum tubes? Heh. I can remember using the hole puncher to save games too. I went through s**tloads of cards just practicing, trying to get all the holes in the right place so it could be read properly.
