The elves drew their weapons waiting. But then they paused as if frozen. I then felt a stirring in the air, as darkness surronded the elves and their beloved city Riviria. I watched the clouds chun black and sighed. Then unexpectedly red fire exploded into an elven flank on my left throwing the elves back screaming in agony. The elven archers held back as the elven foot soldiers came forth preparing for the rush. Lighting striked the earth with a tremendous force. Then the demons rushed out of the surronding forest by the thousands screaming their glee by the smell of flesh. I yelled the battle cry "Riviria!" and charged leading the cavalry and soldiers toward the demon rush. There was a clash and the demons ripped into the elves blood spraying and helpless screams raised toward the heavens. I charged into the impossible mass hacking into there bodies and felling the warmth of there blood on my skin. They were from six to twenty feet tall with fangs and sycthe like limbs. I continued fighting until then I was thrown from my horse. I hit the ground with a thud. I rolled just missing haveing my throat torn out and I then cast blue flame into the demons buring them to ash around me. I reached my horse retreating toward my elven archers yelling them to fire! Demons dropped as arrows injected into them. They retreated back to the forest as we to our city walls for regrouping and a rest. Irode galloping toward the gates wounded in my side when I then fell from my horse laning with a moan and I was to exhasted to move but I saw somone approach me and I just waited to see who it was...

Here is the thing the demons killed all the races except the elves but a few humans/dwarfs are alive but they are hiding. COME join the elves and rest of the few races to save the world!

My clan... gone my Family... Dead my only position was my axe and my armor and by them I had finally come to the gates of Rivira the great city of the elves.

"Halt!" Came a higher pitched voice that could have sounded like music was it not for the owner of the voice holding a bow taught with a fine arrow notched. "I traveled long to come here, do not delay my errand anymore elf." I spoke grabbing my axe and bringing it across my body and cleaving down leaving the arrow unable to fly. I strode past the elf into the gates.

I saw the great elf city of Rivira in the distance. I had just finished a two-week journey from my homeland of Gorman to this place. The bodies of demons and elves covered the blood-stained grass as I strided up to the gates of the city. A dwarf was entering the city right before me. Wonder what he's doing at an elf city? I thought to myself. I walked up to the guard at the front gate.
"Who are you?" He grunted. He seemed rather upset. I supposed the dwarf had put him in his place.
"I'm Mathew. I hail from Gorman. I am an inventor from the Center of Technology in Gorman. I would like to enter, please."
"Why do you want to enter our fair city?" The elf seemed rather angry with me. I guess he didn't like humans much.
"Gorman has been overrun by these demons. I have come here, because this is the only place left to go. Please let me pass."
"Alright, but if you cause any trouble, I will give you an arrow through the throat!" He barked. I glanced at his pointless arrow and nearly laughed. I held it in and ran inside the gates.

I stood by my tower room window observing the recent battlefield. It was filled with corpses...luckily more of the demon kind. But we were loosing too many men. The demons would totally outnumber us eventually if we wouldn't find a way to avoid casualties and to end this conflict quickly. The horizon was darkened by swarms of the filthy hellspawns, the sky was gloomy and covered in black clouds. Thunder was heard in the distance and lighting lit up the sky from time to time. A thunderstorm was present somewhere in the distance. As another thunder roared through the sky, rain started pouring down from the dark clouds.
Suddenly someone knocked on the door.

"Come in..." I said calmly and turned at the door.

"Archmage, you're wanted in the war council."

"I'll come soon. You may go..." I said and turned away at the window. The soldier left silently.

I sadly watched at the ruined land and at the corpses of elves and our allies. The blood was being flown away by streams of water and formed dark red streams. I sighed sadly and brushed away a tear. I turned away from the window and left the room, quickly moving towards the council hall.

    [OOC]
    Character:

    Name: Silvenius (whole name unknown)
    Race: elf

Appearance: although he is old Silvenius looks handsome and young. He has soft facial features, green calm eyes, white shoulder-length hair and a slightly muscular, tall but elegant frame.

Clothing: He usually wears a dark green robe made from elven silk, adorned with golden ornaments and enchanted with various protecting spells. The robe also has a hood. The archmage of Riviria also wears grey pants, white silk shirt with loose sleeves and a pair of sandals.

Other Inventory: A strong wooden curved staff with engraved runes that glow when spells are processed through the staff.

Skills: he is more than capable with his long sword and his staff.
He is one of the most powerful mages in the world.

Magic: Silvenius has mastered the control of the main elements: fire, water, earth, wind. He is also a master of magic force so he can move objects, levitate or create walls of force through his will. Silvenius is also very powerful with controling living nature - be it animals or beasts.

About time there was another decent RP thread here. All the good ones died off a while back when people could no longer maintain their presence here.

    Name: Katherine L'Anara
    Gender: Female
    Race: Human
    Age: 23

Description: Long and slightly wavey red hair, vivid and deep green eyes. She is curvaceous and feminine and well-endowed. Very pretty, girlish and fairly cute in appearance. She has a youthfulness about her that belies her true experience.

She is agile and quick, with good reflexes, but she is not particularly well suited to combat because she is not very strong and does not have the base constitution needed for a fighter. However, she is very willful and intelligent and often gets her way through simple charm and subtle manuevering rather than brute force. She is an exellent negotiator. She is open, friendly and outwardly trusting, although generally cautious in nature.

Skills/Abilities: Accomplished Sorceress. Uses the 'Will and the Word' method of sorcery. Uses two main familiar forms, but can assume as many forms as she wants, provided she knows the forms well enough. Her two forms are that of a Snow Leopard and a Peregrine Falcon.

The WatW form of sorcery does not use spells as such, but rather she can accomplish many feats, often seemingly impossible feats, through the simple application of her will.

She is also a healer of fair ability, but uses medical means, rather than magical means, although she can augment her healing abilities using her sorcery to some extent.

Equipment: Dressed in a simple, short white dress, low cut and showing off her cleavage. It is fur trimmed and elegant in it's simpleness. She compliments this with a hooded red cape that matches the vivid flame-red of her hair, fastened with an emerald green brooch that matches her eyes, with the symbol of a silver cat on it.

Her feet are covered with finely crafted, enchanted white-leather mid-shin-high walking boots. The nature of the enchantment is simply one of durability, put upon them by the crafter upon their creation to keep them immaculate, soft and comfortable to the wearer so that they can walk long distances, perfectly quietly without them taking any damage.

She wears a finely crafted, silvery, mythril rapier on a white leather belt around her waist that has an emerald-encrusted hilt. It was a gift from her friend and mentor, an Elf named Sylvenor, upon his death. Her favourite familiar form of a Snow Leopard was his form too, and that is why she likes using it. She can use this rapier well if the need arises as she is expertly trained in it's use, but it is mainly for self-defence or light skirmshes as she doesn't like to fight physically.

She also has a few assorted gems and some coins to her name, but little else.

Background: She was born to a lesser noble family in a county barony. She had a sheltered childhood up until the age of nine. As she entered puberty, she suddenly started exhibiting her ability to assert her will. This was taken as a sign of possesion by her parents and the local clergy and she was bound and left to die in the local forest.

She was rescued by an aging Elf named Sylvenor who had been keeping a covert watch over her since before her birth. He told her that her mother was a far decendant from an ancient line of sorcerors, and that every ninth generation, a child was born with the gift of the sorceror.

He explained the will and the word. The focussing of the will and the direction of action with a single word to accomplish almost anything you can conceive of.

From that day, Sylvenor trained her in the use of her gifts, and the way of survival in the wild - using wild herbs and techniques to survive, and to live harmoniously with the animals around her. She matured into an adept sorceress with a kind demeanor, but she was shy of the world around her. Due to her nature, she developed a more subtle form of sorcery, not having to utter the directing word, but only having to think or wish the desired action.

When she was 17, and Sylvenor was on his deathbed, he gave to her the rapier and cloak and boots, along with the emerald brooch and told her to go out into the world and help people - to show them the beneolence of the sorcerors and to give her the experience of kindness and life.

He told her to treasure the symbol of the silver feline, as it was a symbol of benevolence throughout the world, where enclaves of mystics, mages, bards, sages and sorcerors sought to bring peace and harmony to the world, and if she was ever in trouble or wished to learn more of the world, to seek out these places.

Since that day, she has travelled the realm, helping those that need help, and averting danger and saving those that needed saving. All the while, she grew in power and experience and learned more of the world around her. She found that many people accepted magic within the realm, but also found that many more feared it, especially among the clergy.

It was during one of her trips to local temple to lend her healing experiences to help out during an outbreak of a minor ailment, that the clergy told her of the demons and the dark magics and powerful curses stealing across the southern realms, mostly enhabited by the Elves. There were fears that the evil underlords were reaching ever further northward in their search for dominion.

That was two years ago, and now the land is in tatters, with only pockets of resistance remaining, and hordes of demons and hellspawn littering the realm...
    [/OOC]

I looked down at the scene below me. There were bodies everywhere - most of them demon but plenty of Elves too. Too many for my liking. I had always liked the Elves.

I circled the battlefield once more and headed off over the forest to the east. It was difficult to see through, but my keen sight allowed me to penetrate the thick canopy. The winds and the storms tossed me about like a leaf and it made me glad that I was fond of the form of a peregrin falcon, as not many other birds could handle such winds as these.

It wasn't long before I could make out the Elven city of Riviria. This was one of the last major strongholds against the tides of evil, and the last major bastion of Elven life.

It had taken a long time, but I had finally found the location of the city of the Elves. There weren't many people around in this region to ask.

I folded in my wings, and plumented towards the tall spires of the central city, only opening my wings again once I was nearing the ground. A gust of wind buffeted me, and I had to flap a bit to stabilise myself before putting down in a tree in an empty courtyard. According to the cleric I had asked, this should be somewhere near the main Elven council.

I concentrated my will onto an image of myself, and as I let out my will, I could feel myself pouring fluid-like into that image as I blurred back into my original form. It was a strange feeling, but one that wasn't totally unpleasant. I had always wondered what happened to my possessions when I did that - I always moulded into the same form, no matter what I had with me, and I always reformed with all my equipment and belongings. Sylvador had never explained that.

I was busy pondering this thought, when I slipped myself from my perch in the tree, and I didn't notice the stranger below.

I guess is was pure luck that he caught me, and that I didn't squash him! I blushed dramatically, and slipped from his arms. He was an Elf, of course, with a calm and gentle demeanor and the air of one with a lot of experience behind him. I never could tell the age of an Elf - I hadn't even been able to guess the age of my mentor and friend, let alone an Elven stranger. They just.. well, they just aged so well!

He seemed unperturbed by my arrival, but his left eyebrow was raised questioningly. I brushed again just for effect, and curtseyed politely.

"Greeting my noble Elven friend. I apologise for my somewhat unorthodox arrival. May I introduce myself as the Sorceress Katherine L'Anara. I would like to offer my services to you in this time of need..."

I laid on the soft forest ground for hours since I was attacked by the elves. My master laid next to me, the one who summoned me, I was summoned to kill the elves, but I don't know why I did not leave this plane once my master died. I stood up and ripped the arrows out of me, there were 2 in my chest and 1 in my head. I decided to explore the area I was around, now that I was free I could do anything. I spotted a larage city, this must be the elven city Rivara. I decided to hide in a bush, but I did not blend in so well with my body being large and red. I did not want to harm the elves, but I know that they would harm me, so I hide. I watched many people walk into the elven city.

As I was watching the elves carry wounded elves and dead elves through, and many travelers enter, I was hit in the head by some type of club. Last thing I knew, I was in the elven city in chains. I was in an elven counsel. I looked around and many eyes were looking straight at me. I didn't know what to do, I thought they would kill me.

[ooc] I'll get my profile soon [/ooc]

I smiled at the human and started fixing my robe's position and straightening the fabric.

"Would beauties fall from the sky like this everyday, world would be a better place..." I smiled friendly and noticed the girl blush.

"I am glad you offered your help. A magician is always is always welcome. Oh…where are my manners? I am Silvenius, archmage of the elven city of Riviria. Nice to meet you, Katherine." I raised and kissed her hand gently.

"I have some urgent business at hand but if you wouldn't mind waiting outside the council building then we could arrange you a place to live in and some duties. I am also interested of seeing what you're capable of since rarely magic users come from the outside world into Riviria. Follow me if you will."

I quickly paced away towards the council hall without looking back and stopped at the entrance. I turned and saw her behind me.

"I am glad you followed." I motioned to a soldier. "Bring some food and wine to this fine lady here, please." I nodded at Katherine.

    "Yes, Archmage."

"So, Katherine, then he comes back make a picnic for yourself in our lush gardens. There is one just there." I showed with my hand. "I'll try not to take too long. Until we meet again." I bowed down and entered the building.

I was escorted to a simple, bare room with an old bed and a desk in the corner. I sat down and began to think of what to do next. Should I ask someone to show me around or wait until someone notices me?

I pondered this for awhile, but then decided I was weary and needed some rest. I walked over to the bed and tried it. It was a little lumpy, and the pillow was flat. The sheets were rather thin, too. I took off my boots and crawled in.

I must have slept for an hour or two. I woke up and glanced out the small, window in my room. I glanced out just in time to notice a demon running out of the woods and hiding behind a bush. I then noticed the Archmage guiding some lovely human woman to the gates and helping her in. The demon seemed as if he was interested in this. I wondered if he was thinking about eating the lady for supper.

I was about to run and tell a guard about it, when I noticed an elf creeping up behind the demon. He brought a club down hard on it's head and then gave a bird whistle. Soon, he was accompanied by five other elves who chained up the beast and dragged it's limp body into the gates...

The elven gentlemen was very polite. I think if some stranger had jumped on me from a tree, I'd be a little upset. It was very gracious of him.

I followed Sylvenius to the council chambers, where he bid me to partake in a picnic. I guess I wouldn't be allowed into the council just yet. I was used to rejection and hostility, so it didn't phase me that much.

I was getting wet from the heavy rain, so I put up my hood, and dashed over to the covered gardens that Sylvenius indicated. When I got there, another Elf brought me some bread, wine and fruit, so I settled down and ate some of it. I was actually quite hungry after all that flying in strong winds, so I soon dound myself eating ravenously.

After a while, I sat back and looked around the gardens. They were surprisingly lush, given the nature of my visit here. When there were demonds roaming the realm, it was nice to simply enjoy the natural environment around you. It reminded me of my old home in the forest with my mentor.

I wondered how long it would be until I would be called upon.

    Necromancing

[ooc]Powerful Necromancer, motives, what he/she is actually doing can never be told. Discovered a way to move the soul from his body into a dead body, giving it his life. However, each time he enters a new body, he gains some of its memories and ideas and this is causing some insanity. Has created a few demons, but doesn't really have any affiliation with whatever being is doing the summoning of the demons for the war.[/ooc]
I am a spirit, I lost my body long ago. Although I believe it is still living, it is no longer truly a part of me. I am looking around the battlefield, searching. I spot the perfect one, one of the elven casualties. She was obviously beautiful when she was alive, before a demon broke her neck. I maneuver myself into her body and begin fixing the damage and molding myself into her shape. I slowly join in with her body and brain, making her a part of me. After many hours in this process, I finally manage to stand up and look around. I adjust "my" clothes and gear, remedying the items I lack with those of the fallen around me. After finally getting ready, I walk towards the elven city.

    Name: Kingar Bloodbane
    Gender: Male
    Race: Demon
    Age: Unkown

Description: This demon is no normal demon, his size for one thing is the same as a human, his body is about the same shape as a human. He looks just like a demon that a summoner would summon, but his size is different. He has glowing red eyes and sharp claws.

Skills: He is quick with melee attacks and he can use mortal weapons. He has also been trained to use Elemental(Fire).

History: He was born in the realm of hell. He didn't like it there too much and he did not like what the other demons did. When he was young he would never do anything evil. He was harmed by the other demons but would still not do what they wanted him to do. He will kill if he has to though.

He looked like all of the other demons before, but he escaped hell some how and when he did, his form changed. Somehow the demons cought him and took him back to hell. Once back there, he was tortured again and again, until he was called by a summoner to be summoned. This summoner called for him during a battle against elves and he was supposed to kill the elves. But instead, he killed the evil one trying to kill the elves, but to his surprise, he was not unsummoned, but he was knocked out.

    Ok. how is that? [/ooc]

I was escorted to a room by two elfs. I was told I would be called on eventually. The room was small and the bed was made shorter probably for a dwarf such as I, there where books in a shelf near my bed a small fireplace with some wood and a candleholder an altogether cozy room nothing like the old mines though. I looked through the books, First cycle the story of the worlds beginning by Jayfa Redoa, Mages Law by Sconner Holdem and various others of little interest to me. I decided to go for a walk and to see what the lay out of this place was, after all I may help defending it one day.

I sat down on my bed and pulled a book out of my pack: Technology and Magick by Dunland Davis. I read a chapter or two, and then put the book away and looked out my window again. It was getting dark, but I could still see a figure walking toward the city. I decided to go for a walk, so I stolled around the courtyard for a bit, and then bumped into the dwarf that had just terrorized the guard a few hours before.

"Hello, sir." I said, "How goes your day?"

As I was helped back into the city by one of my soldiers. A messenger came forth bearing a message for me. "General Menion you are to report to the elders and council meeting right away." I thought to myself now what? I just got right off the battle field and now a meeting? I walked toward a dome shaped building were the meetings were held and passed the Order The Kings elite force that he commands. Before I entered the building my elven sight caught movement. A dwarf! How can this be my scouts said there city was destroyed and the dwarfs killed plus with the humans. I was going to walk over and talk to him but then a arm reached me and pulled me into the meeting room. There was a table with chairs around it and there sat my beloved King Andel. "Sit down Menion" I did as I was told and asked "What is the meaning of this I have an army to lead and I can't sit here and talk!" Andel replied, cooly. "You have more important matters to attend to now Menion but for now we must wait." "The chosen have come into Riviria now." My King refused to say anymore except they are being called.

Sorry I was gone awhile guys sorry! But now is the time you all are called into the meeting. This is were we are going to be introduced okay? Plus wait to here what the King has to say hehe...

    Entering

I decided that I should enter the city, so I walked up to the gate and said hello to the guard. The guard said "Hello Ten'al, I am glad you survived the battle." So that is the name of this body I now have, Ten'al. I am still adapting to this body and so I must have appeared very strange, especially since I am not as well versed in elven customs as I should be, having gone through at least two elven bodies. I don't even remember what my original form was, oh well. The guard asked me if I was OK, and I decided to make use of this, I forced the body to faint, so the guard would carry "me" to "my" room. The guard looked over my body a few times to see if this was something I should be taken to the room or to the hospital for, and then carried me to a small room with a bed which he placed me in, then left.

Sorry, have we derailed your thread a bit Menion? It sounds like you had a plan of sorts, and we've just made up our own thing. You probably didn't expect a demon to enter play did you? Hehe. Quethim does a lot.

Perhaps you should write a small Out of Character (OOC) message during your next post to outline some stipulations for play so we don't mess up your ideas too much. I know it can get annoying when people do things outside the idea for the thread - I've had it happen in some of my RP threads myself, but they're usually easily corrected if caught early enough.
    [/OOC]

I had just finished the light picnic, and wiped my hands with the napkin provided, when a young Elf approached me.

"Sorceress L'Anara? Would you mind following me to the main Elven council chambers? You are expected there."

"Thank you my friend. Lead the way then."

I assume they knew who I was from Sylvenius or by the fact that I wore the symbol of the silver feline. My reputation couldn't have spread this far, surely?

It would be interesting to find out.

We made our way back towards the tall domed building that Sylvenius had entered earlier. These, I presume, were the Elven council chambers. As we entered through a set of large ornate double doors, I pulled my hood back down and looked around at the splendor that met my eyes. The entrance room was ornately decorated, with large arched hallways. Very elegant.

We didn't stop long, and I was led through several long corridors - equally splendid - until we approached another set of double doors. These ones however, were heavily inlaid with gold, in the most ornate of patterns, and there was an inscription in, what I can only presume to be, Elven.

My escort bowed politely to me, and left. I stood there outside those doors, wondering what to do next....

[ooc] I'm not changing anything. I'm on the side of good, I'm not evil, I'm just different, and I like to make seperate plots for my characters, it will not have any effect with the main plot. [/ooc]

Many 'important' looking people have entered the building, but still, I was ignored by other people.

"Could someone please tell me what is to be done with me, if you are to kill me, then do it. I have no info about the plans of the demons, for I am no demon, well...I am a demon, but I'm not like other demons, I'm a good demon, I'll help!" I finally spoke to them, showing that I can speak thier language. They all seemed surprised.

"Well demon, glad to see you can speak, this will make things easier for us, as with what we will do with you, we will let the chosen decide" The man standing next to me said. This man seemed upper class for elves, he was wearing a nice fur jacket and a bunch of jewlry. I waited for the counsil to begin.

People started throwing stuff at me, and a dagger almost hit me but I mananged to dodge it. I ignored all of the paper and other items people were throwing at me. The guards tried to control them, but they kept throwing stuff.

    "Let them." I told them.

Damn dwarf broke my arrow . I should'v shot him then claim he tried to take my pretty elven head off . Oh well , we sure didn't need more casualties on our side . The demons were growing in vast numbers , overrunning the hills and countryside , terrorising halflings and the other small folk .

    " Lorein , my shift now . "

Time for a break ... I sure needed the rest for the next demon summoning stint we'd have to take care of .
