First off, Arcanum is the continent, not the world. We don't know what the world is called.

Second, only the kin and vampires can't be used within the realm of Arcanum. Werewolves already exist (that's the common name for Lycanthropes), and Elementals and Golems aready exist as summons.

The problem with Werewolves, Elementals, and Golems is that they are mindless monsters. Yes, Werewolves have a mind during the day but at night they attack anything they come across so it's kind of illogical to have them as a player race.

Yes, the parts of Arcanum that were shown may not be the only places in the world. There is a real possibility that there are other continents that were not shown or discovered by the people of Arcanum. And if there are new lands there is a possibility for other races.

my 2nd lot of races were meant to be as speacil features like a dwarf that was like an angel kin or an elve that was a vampire. Another idea from me is subraces
Elves= Wood, Dark, Sea, Gold, Moon and Ice
    Dwarfs= Stone, City, Underground

    U get the idea

Not necessarily. Your cousin is related to you from your mother's side, right? Well, is thier father's mother related to you (i.e. thier grandma, from the other side of the family)? No, she aint. I know, because I have a situation like that. Orcs and elves came from humans, but that doesnt mean that they can interbreed.

Yea but if humans and orcs are the same species and humans and elves are the same species then shouldn't orcs and elves be the same species?

Where's Ferret when you need him??

    Simple biological logic here, nbrosz:

If "x" race can interbreed with "y" race,
And "y" race can interbreed with "z" race,
THEN "x" race can interbreed with "z" race.

    It's not a mystery...

You might have hit on the Troika teams thinking. Elves and Orcs were magically evolved from humans so normal biology doesn't apply. Supernatural selection as the called the magically induced evolution. It maybe that Elves had few enough genetic traits were changed from humans so that they still could breed with humans and the same goes for Orcs. It could be that enough genetic traits were changed between the two races were it totaled enough so that Orcs and Elves can’t breed together yet both races can still breed with humans.

the link is broken, but well I know of course where to look :)

Hm... Elven were created first, Orcs very recently. So there are two possibilities: 1) Either whoever created the Orcs didnt want them to cross with Elven - whyever.
    OR
    2) An even magican or a group of those casted a spell that made orc-elf-hybrids nearly impossible - for more obvious reasons.

I dont think its "randomly" they cant breed, because normally they should be able.

if like susano says elves are a lot older than orcs then it would be logical to assume they have evolved to a point were they cant breed with orcs + elves could represent one aspect of humanity and orcs the opposite aspect and so while close enough to humans to beed there on opposite sides of the spectrum so to speak and so cant breed with each other.

soz if that woz a little long winded but a couldnt make it shorter

    PLATYPUS

There should be a platypus follower, and it should just sort of sit there behind you, and if an enemy attacks it it gets poisoned

If you didn't know, human mothers nearly NEVER survive the birth. They are almost always killed, or ripped to shreds from the baby coming out. Not that they really lick it dry when it comes out, tough.

There has to be a disadvantage for everything. What would be the negative stats of the Deathlord?

    Deathlords Negatives

An evil aptitude, and no-one with a good aptitude could join with you

Probably add a good race to work against it

Or better yet, make it "Deathlord Spell" and a background - which changes you fundamentally

-50 Alignment, -1 Charisma, only Virgil, Geoffrey Tarrelond-Ashe will join you? No problem, because of their extreme strength, melee, and dodge.

Virgil might not even be in Arcanum II, because people say he's gay.
