A Few Questions... Perhaps Answers for them?

Alright, i got Arcanum for my Birthday, and ive been playing it for a while... but ive had a few problems with it, more questions about the game.. here they are.....

1. How do you identify items?
2. I have all the requirements for the game, but from time to time, it runs really slow, how do i fix it???
3. How Do You Take In-Game Photos?
4. Is There A Save Game Hack For The Game??
5. I Want To Use Guns, But I Also Like To Use Magick, And According to the game NPCs, The "Tech" item ( Gun ) Will Break when the Magick is used, is this true? I Use A Rifle and a Fine Revolver, and i use the Colleges of Magicks Air, Water, Fire, Earth, Necro W&B
& Summon.
6. Is There Any Other Tips?
7. Is It O.k. To Try To Learn all the Magicks? or Do One College Suck in particular?

I doubt it you'll manage to learn all. Check NPCs list at TA and what they will know so that you don't learn the same things your followers will.

Welcome to the forum!!! Dragoon, I just got Windows XP and it won't even let me save the game. I guess I'll try to reinstall it.

 

Perhaps I'm just lucky :smile: The only Arcanum related problem I have is that I can't open files in character editor. Other than that it's OK - I'm still going to switch to 2K/98 combo since XP is eating my resources too much.

 

I have XP and all the game does is crash on me and run slow. ARGH!

 

i have windows 98 and all it does is run real slow whenever i save, load, open arcanum, or get into sticky combat situations, which is why i use turn based, life is fairly unfair to me

 

I have ME and it's all OK!

answer about magic college:
there are 16 colleges of magic and 40% suck big time:
Earth,Water and Wind elm.
Summoning(what's the point unless you don't have nobody besides you in combat)
College(I don't know name,sorry)for indentification items(first one in upper row)
Nature(worthless,..-summoning bears-->better invest in necro black and summon undead minions)

 

Hey, I like the summon spells! They're great when you just need a demon to fry those Fire Elementals. The only problem is that you can only have one Familiar. :cry:

 

Well I do have a tip for this. If you are in a big city... for instance Tarant and the game keeps running freakingly slow... go into turn-based combat while you're running... You hardly ever slow down then. Doing this prevented me from breakning the arcanum cd (ok... that's a lie... I wouldn't even think of that)

 

Ive had.....NO problems with Arcanum!!

Well, except when I minimize the game the graphics go WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

 

That happens when you <alt>+TAB too! :cry:

 

One quick question, what is the character editor?

 

Sadly, no. It runs extremely slowly under Win2000 too.

 

oh...in response to my previous question....completely ignor it, I was feeling slow!
