I am new to the game and am frustrated. The manual is for crap. How do you identify items?

    Welcome to the forum gothamknight67!!!

You are new to forums as well it seems.
The description of general discussion clearly states "no spoilers" so please post gmaplay questions there next time. I will move this thread shortly.

    Hi there!
    Welcome to the forum!
you can identify items with "divine magick" scrolls,or you can go to the wise women that are found almost in every town(you can find one in shrouded hills)and they will identify the item.

There are several Wise Women in towns... here are the ones I've found.

Shrouded Hills - between the town and the bridge, northeast of starting position.

Tarant - Lowest corner of the city (near the Thieves' Guild, head right as far as you can from starting position), up a little...

Ashbury - head South, following the footpaths... one of them will bring you to her.

    Caladon - she's North, I think.

Saint, it has to do with GAMEPLAY. The answer would be: go to shrouded hills and see this gypsy... Or buy a scroll of... That is a gameplay answer, unless you think diffently tham me. But that doesn't matter.
GD is for OT topics. NO GAMEPLAY. Except if you want to discuss other games.

I have composed a short haiku describing my annoyance level at rastafarian rat.

    Rat
    Annoying
    Jinxed is not awful
Rat has no language skills, none.
    Go away Rat, now.
    Jinxed is good
    Yes.

Masterful, no? I even tried to speak in language he can understand.

And here I thought I was the only one that thought the manul sucked! I am so glad I am not alone. The arcanum "manual" was little more then an attempt at role play. I got so pissed at it one time I just through it in the trash, worthless. Thank God I found Terra Arcanum and this forum or I may never have found my way to enjoy the game. I love this game but the manual is the least functional manual for a game that I have EVER come across. Thats what happens when one confuses gaming instructions with rpg. Keep rpg in the game and out of the manuals I say. :frownyes:

By the way rat boy is a trip. This whole thread has me cracking up. But is does knda worry me that a new member has to be exposed to him. I hope he don't think we are all weridos. (mr. nobodie if you say a word I'll claw your eyes out I swear :shootme: )

I thought the manual was all right... assuming you weren't actually looking for anything, of course. Page numbers sure would've helped.
