I have too much of free time at work right now, so I have came up with another one of those.

What effect will be when you put “Charged Ring on some magic user? This ring gives you only +2 DEX and doesn’t have any other special abilities (nothing I know of). What penalty (if any) will be for using it?

It depends on how heavily you are into magik, if your very far i think you might get a few more critical failures

as far as i know you will not get critical failures as such it just wont work.....
For instance if my dwarf techie uses the sword of defence it just simply doesnt give him the bonuses...i havent noticed any other effects.

BB> to my knowlage magic and tech gadgets doesn't fail in the same way when used by the other side.

a magic item used by a techie will just be rendered usless, well in magick that is, it will still function as an item.

while many of the tech items will get high bonuses on critical failure when used by a mage.

i'm not sure how this works for the ring though.

    *monkey better read the manual*

Charged rings actually don't give you +2 dex and only seems like they do because you don't get more AC just extra speed. I wonder Why?

Does it matter? The charged ring is supposed to make you faster, therefore if you have more ap's you are faster

But if you could move faster you could start to dodge and still get hit but if you move faster in the same situation with the same reflexes you should be able to dodge faster.

Because a couple of dimwits are rudely running on characters without hitting enter.

    (sorry Wojit, one dimwit)

BTW - if this doesn't belong here it doesn't belong anywhere...

One Ring to rule them all
    One Ring to find them
One Ring to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them

The way I see it is like this. If you can move faster then general things like running will be quicker and your attack speeds and things like that. To be able to get out of the way of something else's sword, fangs, or claws, then you have to put some CPs into 'dodge'.

If you put CPs into dex, your overall AC does improve. As your AC improves, that doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be able to "dodge as per the skill" better, but because your AC is better, you will be that much harder to hit by the monsters.

Amos...thanks for the three letter version of DUH. It was much easier to read and pronounce.
