    I dunno, yknow.

I've met a whole spectrum of nasty people who'd jump on the nazi bandwagon in a flash.

By and large they're mostly vapid parrots who are compensating for obvious insecurities, but then there's always a few really sincere evil geniuses who want to simplify the maths of politics by burning everyone that gets in their way.

All things considered, I reckon human nature creates a pendulum of war and peace, and Godwin's law is about due to expire, because actual fucking nazis, except this time we start the churn with nukes.

    Good morning.

The obvious solution is to declare everyone who disagrees with you on anything a basket of deplorables. It's not like that makes people vote for your opponent or anything.

    Good day.

Well, since we were discussing Brexit and Trump, I think Jonathan Pie's analysis of the thing is about as spot on as it gets. Sure, I suffer from confirmation bias just as badly as anybody else, but when something you've felt for a decade or more is summed up into a 6 minute Youtube video, it's pretty powerful.

I don't know, I saw a Youtube comment the other day. I don't remember the exact wording, but the guy wrote that he used to be a tolerant, liberal kind of guy, but that one day he woke up and found that he was apparently some kind of cis-white-male-racist-evil-homophobe-sexist or whatever. His opinions hadn't changed, so what had? It seems to me that more and more people feel that way, and that irks me.

No, identity politics has to go. The left, for the past 10+ years or so, have done nothing but judge people based on skin tone, gender and sexuality. So many odd things follow in its wake. Heck, you see someone calling for segregation these days and they're a vegan with pink hair and a gender studies degree. There's a crisis in the left and one of the consequences was president Cheetos. I think that should be acknowledged, not someone's male privilege or whatever bullying tactic is currently in vogue.

    Good morning.

Provocative post and delete strikes again.

    I know y'all missed me.

As to identity politics, I just charge towards the biggest bully and vote for my enemies' enemies.

It doesn't work, but it's glorious.

    Good morning.

That was a super interesting video DE, thanks for sharing I hadn't seen it. Confirmation bias or not, I did really like it's point.

    Good morning.

I thought the guy came off as mildly insane to be honest, maybe that's how politics makes people these days.

    Good morning.

Talking of mildly insane, it makes me mildy insane when people call the hash symbol "hashtag". No. A hashtag is a hash symbol, followed by a word or phrase. It's okay if you're talking and say something like "The other day I dropped my icecream on the street, hashtag ironic", because then it's clear that you're speaking in the style of an Alanis Morissette Twitter post, like a dashing satirical rogue. What's NOT okay is if you're dictating an address like "1001 Main Street #2", and you say "1001 Main Street hashtag two". Ugh. No. That's just a plain old hash, moron.

But what makes me really insane is that I just caught myself describing a CSS style called #main-button as "hashtag main button". AARGH! I've become the very moron I once despised!

    #goodmorning

You should tweet about it, with the hashtag "#call#hashnothashtag". You know, for clarity's sake.

    Good morning!

I still remember when someone posted up this gif and you said it was reminiscent of the Sandman comics (or possibly you posted the gif, I forget):

Maybe I'll try to get round to reading them at some point.

    Good morning.
