Well actually, the complete opposite of that - a crazed spree killer murdered 12 people during a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Denver saying that he was the Joker; all in all some pretty sick shit. I guess I never understand killers such as this, I know people with antisocial personality disorder are supposed to have a reckless disregard for their own safety normally and take pleasure in the suffering of others - but still you'd imagine someone like that would at least try to keep a low key to some extent to get more and longer lasting enjoyment out of the horrible things they do. I don't know how anyone can get anything out of killing a whole load of people at once, it seems so impersonal and senseless.

Well I was curious and didn't think the derail warranted it's own topic, though apparently "I shouldn't ask questions pertaining to things that are none of my business". Props to the Terra-Arcanum gestapo.

My biggest concern is whether or not he waited for the movie to end. It would piss me off so much if I waited four years to see the biggest movie event ever and somebody shot me at the very beginning.

 

I was told that one of the fatalities of this shooting was a woman who survived another shooting previously. After the first shooting, you'd assume you'd be hazard-free for the rest of your days.

 

Or you'd start carrying.

 

As far as I've understood, he started shooting during a scene where lots of guns were fired, causing further confusion.

 

Probably thought he was saving them from the ending.

 

Yeah. Things like this are giving me more and more incentive to go get a concealed weapon's permit.

I was just chatting with a buddy of mine at a BBQ who has his permit and completed some gun safety courses a couple of years ago. His instructor said that he wanted his pupils to be trained to the level where if ever they were in a crowded theatre, they could draw and tag an aggressor without harming any innocents. This scenario seemed far-fetched a couple of years ago.
