Hi there Everyone! I have a very basic question about Arcanum. I just play it for a very short time but I think it is my favourite game!

Question: I have just a few cities and places on the map as my character is new. Can I find/explore new cities and places just by walking/exploring on the map or I have access to cities only when someone shows them on a map?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Yes, you can find some towns by yourself. But this is pretty time consuming, since most of the map is actually empty.

It should be added that the location of cities is only revealed if you stop in their exact location, not if you just walk over it.

Not really dude, you actually need to travel near the city or location, but last month I printed a map of the world with every city and location marked.

Dammit Muro! I spent my entire lunch break roaming TV Tropes, and barely ate!

and yeah, you don't have to land specifically on a city, just near it. I usually set a huge, zig-zagging path across the continent, click "travel" and then walk away. if you get into any combat, you're always confronted first, and if you don't? Well, then you're exploring a lot with little effort.

I have a love-hate relationship with TV Tropes myself. Who hasn't, really.

Every? No, I'm afraid that whoever created it, forgot about thirteen locations.

This, on the other hand, is an indeed complete map with every single location marked (apart from the two hidden ones which don't get marked anyway). Higher quality, too.

I hail from Poznań in the Polish Empire. Why do you ask, though? Planning a visit?

I find linking to TV Tropes to be an extremely effective form of trolling. While arguments can infuriate someone, linking to TV Tropes can actually ruin their lives. At first just a harmless look at a few amusing articles, before you know if you have 50 tabs open, and next thing you know you're unemployed and homeless...

Maybe, I was planning to go visit Germany in my next vacations...

But tell me, what does Muro means? Here it means Wall.

I take it you're a Spaniard, then? Or, more likely, Italian?

Muro is a name I borrowed from Muro Hasegawa, the antagonist of Oni (a game made by Bungie in 2001 - good year, spawned Arcanum and all). After nine years of using it, though, more than anything else it simply means "me" from my point of view.

Oh no dude, I was born in São Paulo, Brazil, but I'm living in Finland for 8 years.

And Oni, it's a good game, my friend showed it me these days.

Although I can speak a little Spanish, Italian and some other languages.

Well, I have some spanish and italian blood running through my veins... as well as croatian, german and polish.
