    Nine years.

Nine years of using Muro as my nickname.

Nine years of people not having a clue of what "Muro" means. Naturally, there were those few gamers who played "Oni" by Bungie and for them Muro was the antagonist from it. And it was bearable, after all, that's where I got my nick in the first place so who was I to blame. Yet Oni isn't an extremely popular game, which I considered a good thing in a way, seeing how it only added to the obscurity of my nick and all. There were of course the Spanish folk for which it simply meant "Wall". Quite annoying, I'll admit, but hey.

All of this meant that I was "Muro" for most and "Muro, like that evil dude from Oni" for a few, with the occasional "Haha, wall" Spaniard wiseass every now and then. And that was about it. All in all a good situation it was, yes.

But now, for fourteen and a half million people thorough the world I am "Hurr durr, Muro? Like that cheap imitation of MS Paint?" And the number rises with each day.

    Oh, the shame.

    Fuck you, deviantART, fuck you.

But think of how many of those 14 and a half million people will be using you to help them draw penises and porn.

Not to be an ass or anything, but it could be worse. I mean, it's not like you were an immature Drizzt fanboy when you selected your moniker.

So this is somehow a bad thing? So what if people don't understand what you call yourself? It's your name. Be proud of it! I love my name. It means "big sponge" in German.

That's easy. Elementary, my dear Watson; That's from a character that is/was named Wobbler in a Terry Pratchett's book called 'Johnny and the dead'. Also, I really like that book.

Actually, if you want it to stand by itself, it's a grammar error, as the correct expression would be "Grosser Schwamm" ("Großer Schwamm" if you want it to be orthographically correct). Your nick suggests that it's part of a sentence or whatever (as in "Hast du den großen Schwamm gesehen?").
The only remaining question is if that's intentional or not. Personally I always thought there's a typo in your name and it was supposed to mean "Gossenschwamm" which would translate to something like "gutter sponge". Made some sense to me, as g and r are not too far away from each other on a standard keyboard.

    ...

Ah, yes, Muro. Uh... yeah. So?

And there you have it, Gross's name is a huge typo. Can't get much worse. It's like Drak Elf or Mruo or Garkelin.

Mine name means 'Commander of the Realm'. It's was taken from the book called The Languages of Tolkien's Middle-earth, who I bought years ago.

Close, but no cigar. It's from the book before that, "Only you can save mankind". But you know, you got the right character and everything.
