I disabled smilies in this post so the beauty bonus from your background could be seen instead of an emote.

    Maloch: Props for the fix.
Ramidel: Although I can see the humor in your post, naming a thing gives it power.

    Now I must kill you.

I really, really call into quiestion the beauty bonus. Shouldn't it be a penalty? Oh well.

He's a vampire = an undead, therefore he shouldn't fall unconcious while having 0 or negative fatigue. I'm pretty sure that would be a bitch to implement in a background.

Oops! Thanks for the fix, Mal.

And yes, immense beauty bonus, Muro. It's a snark at the book's purple prose.

I myself am sadly corrupted by the film (thus my doubt about the beauty factor). Then again, who isn't.

Just curious. For a human the +8 Beauty will boost the reaction exactly by 40, which performs a precise neutralization with the -40 reaction penalty. Coincidence or a contrived action?

Taking that into account, the background by itself would be quite unbalanced, exchanging - 10 CP penalty for a + 6 CP bonus, yet for a lone warrior it would be excellent. Impressive how you menaged to create a rightly biased Sparkly Vampire background which is actually workable enough to play with, making it something more than just a exaggerated joke background.

Does that include the +5 reaction modifier blessing given by the priest after retrieving his holy artifact?

I'm afraid not. It also doesn't include the reaction bonuses resulting from the +Beauty blessings of Gehstianna, Brigitte and Hebe, not to mention the reaction penalties caused by the -Beauty curses of Stringy Pete and Gehstianna. Sorry for that oversight, I somehow thought modifications gained during the game, therefore after the character creation is complete, are not themselves part of the background. Silly me.

*comforts Xiao and gives her a cookie*
    There, there, Dear One.
    It won't last.
    It's just a passing fade.
Like Rock 'n Roll or Harry Potter.

Oh god, Sparklepire is actually in-game *cries*.

Thankfully, Harry Potter phase passed very quickly for me. Like 2 minutes I think.

I resent the part in bold having any relation to Harry Potter or that stupid teenage vampire fa(d/g).

Your logical OR should be a logical AND. He's a fag and it's a fad. See, much better.

For whatever it's worth, you folks can take comfort in knowing I won't be adding that background. ;)

    I second this. Two votes.

And thank you, rroyo, for not obliterating the world of Arcanum by the addition of indecisive sparklies.

Way over my head, apparently. Stings, but I'll let my post stand testament to my lack of awareness.

Yeah. I actually liked how Edward was played in the film. The actor went in knowing how badly Twilight sucked (but...well, Money Dear Boy), played Edward accordingly, and actually made something decently funny out of it. Consider this background dedicated to Robert Pattinson.

Contrived? Now whatever gave you that idea? 8)

Curses, my evil plan is exposed!

Oh, Xiao. Your tears are the sweetest of compliments.

Actually, Harry Potter is honestly a pretty good series IMO.

Mostly, I find it hard to read about children. Probably because I hate them... That and JK Rowling isn't exactly the epitome of English literature. I still read the books, just 2 minutes after finishing I realised how average the writing was, along with the contrived storyline.

    Rroyo, ...
