I think that UK wants to hear what you have to say about the "Smart" move of soviet.

If you want to buy a lawful copy, then look at my links for ebay. Some are under $10 at the moment and even adding shipping would not be too much for such a great game!

You can search worldwide on ebay and also tell ebay to tell you when a certain item is available, so I don't think it would be difficult to get the game cheap if you put some effort into it.

As to the Soviet guy, does your quote man you did download the game from his warez link? To be honest your statement above was a little cryptic! I presume English is not your first language.

    I would ebay/amazon but I don't have a credit card.

And english my first language. I enjoy being cryptic, but I don't download warez.

Well Magic - where are you in the world, and how much do you want to pay, or how much can you pay? Then we'll help you find the game and buy it and get the money (in cash) from you and then send it to you.

In an odd and sad way,
I find this latest turn amusing.

Me too. As nice (and sorta naive) as the offer is, I think I'll pass.

Well, good luck playing Torment then, and don't know why you posted your first post. It's like me complaining about car prices when I walk everywhere! :)

um, my post is gone entirely...
the site I posted is the only russian site I know of that is NOT warez-ing stuff. those guys offer abandon-ware legal in Russia and AFAIK legal to download and use anywhere, unless the game in question is republished there. I'm not going to get another account banned for the very same reason, thank you ;)
    links removed.

UK_John, yes, my languages are russian and german, so forgive the grammar ;)

What is legal in Russia can be very illegal in the rest of the world. So I think you can gather from the post being removed and you soon to be banned, I suppose, that the rest of the world looks down on Russia in this regard and Russia needs to clean it's act up with regard copyright issues, just like China and India needs to. Because all you countries are either in the modern world or not - you can't have it both ways.

I'm a bit foggy on the abondonware thing.
Exactly when does software become 'abandonware'?
    How car you tell?

PS:T isn't abandonware or public domain though. The rights are still clearly owned by Interplay and will be until at least December 2019 unless they renew the patent on it (if they can).

Just because the game is no longer updated doesn't mean it's abandoned.

On a related note, I found this

p.s: I found a couple people's posts on the Obsidian Entertainment forum claiming that Atari bought/claimed/acquired/etc. the rights to PS:T.

my bad. this is one frigging good reason to stick to freeware.
although IMHO anything older than 5-7 years is abandonware by lack of official support and regular purchase possibilities (unless republished), the great western prophets of the $$$ think and judge otherwise. well, I'll plead the fifth on whatever software I own.

It's amazing the way this thread has gone! Who would have guessed! I feel like I have bashed the door down now, rather than politely knocking on the door! :)
