    If I import one it'd be region free for ps3 games but region locked for ps2 games, plus I'd need a PAL format one and not an NTSC.

    You could get one straight from Japan, then your only problem is the region lock on PS2 games.

    Same problem, the PS3 contains region coding for PS2 games so I'd have to find a way to unlock it which I'm not sure can be done.

    Secondly, I've heard the 60Gb version is being discontinued in Europe as well. The key difference is you get a release of the 80Gb which Australia won't be getting.

    They offer language selection in every model of PS3, you'd just need to figure out the console manual on your own.

    But, seriously, Vorak;
    Fuck Sony. Grab a 360 or a Wii.
    Seriously, you put the cost of those two systems together and it's only a little more expensive than a single PS3. The only games you'll miss out on are the Final Fantasy series, which went downhill after 7, and maybe the Front Mission series, which was also made by Squaresoft, but features giant customizable robots in an RPG setting. Are two game series that important to you that you have to spend the extra 200 dollars on a glitching pile of plastic Japanese crap? It's already been acknowledged that all PS3's are faulty, but Sony won't own up to it. So, are you going to take it up the ass from a company that makes billions from its hundreds of other electronic devices and therefore doesn't give a shit if its only "good" console regularly has read errors, overheats, and for the most part has not one game that's actually up to par with it's technology, or are you going to do the right thing and settle for instant gratification?

    $715.00 pre-owned, its in the box with the cords and one control plus an adapter to plug ps2 controls into it theres no manual but you can download it anyway.

    The average price for a new 40Gb ps3 in Australia is about $699.00. But I bought the now discontinued 60Gb model (for essentially the same price) if I'd waited until Christmas I wouldn't have found anything but the 40Gb at a lower price.

    It seem safe to do a quick double post.

    Firstly, now that I have a 60Gb model I'm glad they discontinued it since I can gloat about my fortune whilst laughing at the misfortune of those that missed out. I personally predict Microsoft to make a similar move with the 360 followed by Nintendo withdrawing from Australia because lets face it if they want to really rape the Australian console market they should do it right.

    And now that I've got the ps3 I want one of these:

    I was actually thinking of putting my ps3 up for sale on ebay.
    I know you probably don't think of me as the most trustworthy person but i am selling it. If you want it. 60 gb version. 5 games.

    By the way, just brought Arcanum in pristine condition off of ebay with original box. 7.99 GBP. Not a bad buy in my opinion.
