Bug with Maximillian's quest on the Isle of Despair

Hello!

I'm currently on the Isle of Despair and try to solve all the subquests there. I accepted Maximillian's quest to report to Warren in Dernholm, but when I enter the women's camp in the north of the isle to complete Cynthia's quest (the woman in the southern camp), Maximillian's quest becomes marked as failed. This only happens if I wear the white scarf. If I don't wear it, the quest doesn't fail, but the women attack me, of course. Did this happen to anyone else? Is there a workaround or am I doing something wrong?

If there is no solution, can you tell me, what rewards I can get for Cynthia's and for Maximillian's quest?

I'm playing the German version of the game and I have installed the patch 1.0.7.4.

I usually don't do Cythia's quest till last.

Nothing happend to Cynthia. It only concerns Maximillian's quest. If I put the scarf on and go near the women's camp, Maximillian's quest is marked as failed for some reason.

Well, now I found a way. I just had to walk near the camp, then put the scarf on, talk to the woman, take the scarf of and leave. I don't understand, why, but it worked.

Actually, the best way to save Cynthia is not to take her to the women's camp.

Can you revert to an earlier save, talk to the women first and Maximillian later?

 

You can take her off the island.

 

But... she's so ungrateful when you do...

Maybe if you Dominate her will? I could see how that'd make her ungrateful.

 

The one time I took her to Ashbury, I got this just before she left:

What I meant was, when you get off the island, and if she decides to hang around, and then you tell her that she can have her freedom now, she says she will have to find the women herself. Funny.....

Generally, I don't notice whether the quest gets botched (I do it anyway, and the quest will be completed ), but I don't think you could wear Cynthia's scarf when you enter the women's camp, because, well, it means you've done something to her.....

How'd she get back?

When I took her off the island, she later respawned there somehow and still was thankful for her freedom.

I should've taken a screenie of it.

I returned to get Ogdin (you know, the ogre guarding the dwarf's home on the colony who says you gotta win a pit fight) a book called "The Hand", which you can find in a barrel close to Teach's ship in Ashbury.

 

What?? You can get back to the island afterwards??

I guess you can do that as long as you don't talk to Thorvald...
