    Alright im having problems with hosting,

    When i try to join some ones game it says

    "Connecting To Game"
    "Aborting Connection"
    "Connection Aborted"

    Any one know what to do?

    Don't play?

    I mean the multiplayer sucks anyway.

    Which, of course, is the reason why nobody ever plays Arcanum online.

    Well I don't think its likely that you'll find an answer here because none of us ever bothered to try and learn about multiplayer.

    I've never even tried to play online, I don't know anyone who has tried. Besides, it doesn't sound as if there is anyone who does anyway. This game was designed to be a single player game, not online. The multiplayer mode was prabably done when they were close to finishing the game, and instead of patching what existed, they threw in that thing that bloodwi11 thinks might be worth checking out. Well according to what I've heard about it, it's not worth the space on the hard drive.

    If memory serves (which it usually does but this is a fairly vague memory at best) Troika only added the multiplayer function because Sierra all but told them the game wouldn't go into production until it had a multiplayer aspect.This meant that the multiplayer function was a rushed project done right before the game was finished, Troika simply didn't have the time or resources to try and make it better.

    Shoo, back to GD, most of you.
    This is supposed to be the section where all of that stupid crap isn't unless someone does something real stupid.

    sadly, bloodwi11, Arcanum doesn't really have an online feature, it's just a set of buttons and menus that do nothing. Really, it hardly even works over LAN.

    i agree with Icarus....There is always something that doesn't allow people to play online...so they come here to ask for help and we change their minds.....

    Well Actualy at one point... i think 2002 arcanum had online working and it was quite popular then. The mod from www.won.net allows you to get back online also

    Also About the problem

    Its that conntecting to a player is getting kinda wierd online lately

    It shows in the Find Game Menu A game made by each player online even if they havent hosted 1 and im gussing that the refreash system is the problem because when some one logs off there "Game they Never Hosted" stays online for about 10 min.

    Also you can try getting online and IM back and forth if all else seems not to work.

    Well im back to work on attempting to get this to work.


    PS. i forgot to add with version 1.0.7.4 the only problems i ran into are the medical aracnid and that every once in a while i had problems getting my charecter to run. other than that there really wasnt any other problems on lan or online

    You think quite alot don't you? As far as I know, multiplayer never worked _properly_ I've played it a few times via LAN; and seriously, I don't see how the thing could ever have been _POPULAR_.

    I think it only worked for like a week after they launched the game...i think it never worked again because of the patches and modules they launched...because not everibody had installed patches or modules...

    i try many times also not work for multiplayer, so you have to give up to play multiplayer.
