We have a puppy called Jasper, he is of Blenheim (chestnut and white markings)& he is only 9 weeks old. We had a dog called Patch of tricolour (black, white and tan) markings, but sadly he died of mitral valve disease. He lived from 25-12-95 to 02-06-04. We miss him very much & it was terrible not having a dog around the house, so after a month we decided to get Jasper from a breeder of the Cavalier. Anybody else have one of those lovely dogs ,breed them, or have something dog related to discuss?
    Cheers
    Patrick

Six post's in a row... impressive... please don't do that. Also out of respect of those who only have a dial-up connection it's not such a good idea to do so many pic's, you could of just put a link to them in one post and had the desired effect. Apart for that welcome newbie.

Actually I have ADSL, I did start a thread bragging about it, nice to see you've been keeping current on what's happening though.

Aren't those the dogs guaranteed to develop heart disease by the age of ten?

They're about as intelligent as the Bichon Frise as well. What a bargain.

Just to balance out my general loathing for small dogs, welcome to the forum. :)

Actually, my grandparents have owned a string of Cavaliers, and I quite like them. They don't seem particularly stupid to me either. The whole 'most definitely will get sick later in life' part is a real bummer though. My grandparents last one (not their current dog) had some problems/disease as well, but in his last year it seemed to give him some strange bursts of energy. He hadn't run for a couple of years because he was too sick, but we took him to the park one day and he started blitzing around at high speed again like he was in heat or something. That was pretty much his last hurrah though, because he died a few months later.

I don't like Cockers. A seemingly little known fact is that they are carriers of strep throat.

That might concern me if I knew what that was.

There are only two of the minature breeds I have ever considered. The Cavileer is one of them. This may come from having cockers as a kid.

But I find I much prefer dogs big enough to pet without bending down.

Retard, Cavileers are not cockers, different breeds. The cocker is a field dog turned into a lap dog, the cavileer was always a lap dog. (A lot of cockers still hunt BTW) (Freaking republicans can't get ANYTHING right)

Interesting note. The King Charles Cavileer is the only dog allowed inside the British Parlement.

Cavaliers were formed by crossing King Charles Spaniels with Cocker Spaniels, numnuts.

The Cavalier wasn't always anything. The King Charles was the original breed, and only half the predecessor of the Cav. (The other half being a Cocker Spaniel.

Fuck you and your attitude. (Freaking democrats are dickheads with attitudes who won't stop to put politics into everything.)

Jar, this is strep throat. I know you've had it at least once in your life.
