Okay, I've been meaning to bitch about the weather here for a while, so here goes...

FUCKING HELL IT'S HOT! It's been in the mid to high 30 degrees Celsius for the past few days, along with ultra high humidity (up to 89% I believe) and no fucking breezes. The other day, I was doing nothing more strenuous than sitting at the computer surfing the net, and I was sweating...and the time was 1.00 am. This weather is also supposed to last for the next few days.

It's weeks like this that I hate the weather around here. The only place comparable to it that I've been is the Middle East, and even it wasn't as humid (although it was hotter).

So what's the weather like in your part of the world?

It's been pleasant enough during the day, up to 70 Fahrenheit, though the occasional chilly breeze ruins the experience. At night though it drops to 45-50 F, which is UNBEARABLE I TELL YOU.

30 Celsius? What's that, like 85 F? Sounds nice enough if not for the humidity. Had a lot of humidity when I lived in Washington, DC, and as I recall it was like living in the suburbs of Hell. During the summer here it regularly hits 90-100+ and I still go out and play ball. Couldn't figure out why all those French kept dying last year....

Pretty much the same, but hotter and no humidity cause there's no fucking water anywhere!. There's been maybe 4-5 showers lasting about 5-10 mins top's over the last 5-6 months... yes, month's. there's a lake on the southern side of town that's normally about 3.5 to 4 metre's deep, right now it's under 1.5 metre's and has been closed for... actually i don't know how it's been closed, about a year i think. You're lucky your on the coast Jar Jar, atleast you get rain..... lucky bastard we'd kill for some rain out here.

Last week was cold as hell, culminating one morning when we had -30 Celsius. I tell you, there are nicer temperatures. It's been a lot more pleasant the last few days though, since it's been around 0 or so. Oh, and one thing about climate adaption - things are really fucked up when you feel like walking outside with only a t-shirt on your upper half when it's +3, but I almost considered that yesterday...

Perhaps we should expert some of the snow to Wagga, Nobb Oddy? We've got plenty to spare. Then you could dump it into Lake Albert or whichever lake you're speaking about. :)

Its 23 degrees Farenheit here in Virginia, but theres no wind so its not bad, I've only been wearing a t-shirt and a sweat-shirt and I'm fine.

Jar- go swimming or something, have one of those crazy dryed out river bed boat races or something, throw some shrimp on the barby. Just because hot doesn't mean theres no room in your schedule for a bit of walk-about does it?

It's been 30+ Celsius lately, with a slight breeze, though there was a storm today and it was colder.

Perhaps I should have worded my original post better - I meant it was 35 or higher degrees Celsius, which is about 100F I think.

mrnobodie, we had storms...a week of them. Apparently, it was the most violent week of storms on record, so I feel pretty good about coming through it unscathed. Some crazy lady my brother met on the bus once reckons the area I live in is in some sort of 'storm channel', which reduces the intensity of storms for some reason. Given how little damage was done around here, compared to other places, I'd listen to her theory on why.

Sleek, there's no point going swimming when your pool is just as warm as the air. And only a crazy man stands over a barbie on a hot day and cooks food. And when it's this hot, you don't want to do anything other than lie around, watch sport and bitch about the weather. Unfortunately, there's no sport to watch.

Well, you need to find a cold pool, Jar. I've spent most of the summer in a cold swimming pool...

It hit 41 Celcius here in Melbourne a couple of days ago, I think...only one hotter day that I can remember here , that was 42 a couple of years ago. Strange, though, it's been a fairly cold summer for the most part. I heard it was 45 C in Adelaide, though...ouch...

Well if the pool is that warm why not just rent a boat and zip on over to the south pole? I mean, its basically next door for you Aussies, just bring a couple marsupials (koalas, kangaroos, wallabees, Oprah, etc) and fill their pouches with ice, and be back in time for "Round the Twist"! After you're done watching your favorite TV show, just dump all that ice in yer pool. Its so simple its genius.

edit: sorry mr nobodie, sometimes my key board needs a little banging to get all the letters out of it. I just didn't notice it when I was typing, I'm sure I hit it though, it happens all the time with my stupid keybord.

Two thing's, my moniker is pronounced: Mr Nobody, don't feel too bad that you've fucked it up and made a cock of yourself, i usually have to explain every year or so. Secondly, and more importantly... how the fuck did you know the lake i was refering to was called Lake Albert!. Fuck me dude, how long did you look on the net too find that out, and why?... I mean you're in fucking Sweden, I wouldn't have a clue how to find shit out about sweden. Well ok, i guess i could do a search for maps and shit, but why?. if you're that good with a search engine why aren't you looking for porn like a normal person?. Oh, and it's export too. Actually, while i'm on a spelling kick, Sleek, it's marsupial.

You know, I just searched for "Lake Wagga" on google and received the answer in a fraction of a second. They've gone and made that search engine too fucking effective, you wouldn't know what you could bring up with the family filter off. Well, I suppose that you know... :p

Why I looked it up? Hell that I know, but I'm just an impulsive bitch like that. And yeah, I know it's export, my finger must have slipped, which is pretty remarkable since e and o are on the opposite sides of the keyboard. Heh, kinky...

So, how does it feel to live by a lake with the same name as a genital piercing? Makes me wonder. Is it closed as an effect of the drought or were there too many people "dipping the Albert into the Albert" sorta?

Now, we shouldn't go and make retard jealous should we?

Because ice breakers are expensive to operate, and I don't fancy taking a few months of walking around the Antarctic.

A few hours flight is next door?

    1. Their pouches aren't that big.

    2. Round the Twist is a crappy kids show

    3. It hasn't been on TV here for ages.

    4. I can't remember the last time I watched the ABC (channel it screens on).

You know, I could just go down to the local servo and get much more ice for far less money and effort. And then it would all be wasted, because the ice would melt so quickly it wouldn't have a chance to cool the pool.
