This bothers me too, it tends to be a large contributor to people getting in my way. Honestly people who flat out refuse to look where they're going when they're walking are asking for trouble - if I'm doing something with my phone whilst walking I only glance at it to prevent myself from either getting in other people's way or injuring myself through lack of observation. The amount of people who walk down stairs doing this at my uni is alarming.

Troubling, yes, but nonetheless hilarious, once at the local mall i saw two guys in a row hit the same lamp post while distracted by their phones.
But, it also gives us, the normal careful pedestrians, something to look after, for they walk as if no one else could stand in their way...

I don't like it when people try and sound pretentious because they mistakenly believe it adds weight to an argument. On a gaming forum I was on recently someone posted an opinion on a point, I posted my counter opinion yet without raising it as a counter point directly as I appreciate people can have differences of opinion (so no "I think you're wrong because..." or "But..." - just what I thought as an alternate line of thinking) and his response was:

"Come again? :/ ", followed by him telling me that what I thought was completely invalid without providing a substantiated argument as to why that was the case.

I don't care about idiots on the internet telling me I'm wrong, it happens all the time, but to say "come again" is a complete contrivance just to give an air of superiority. I've known some pretty pretentious people, and yet I've never once been asked a single time in real life "Come again?"; it's an unbelievably arrogant thing to say.

Well I've heard she does make good cookies and share them with the neighbourhood, and usually asks people to come again and enjoy more delicious cookies another day - I presume that's what you're referring to, right? Right?!?!

Internet is that place where people with dysfunctional social skills get a chance to develop a pseudo-social persona.
Just look at Smuel, or for that instance I'm a fairly good example.
So, if you are to use internet, you should be advised beforehand that you're venturing into a place full of cunts and even worse.
I for one, every time i post an opinion i do it without waiting for a civilized or helpful answer, but yet hoping for it.

    Re:

You must be on a different internet from me - in my experience the sausage to wallet ratio varies from unappealingly high to uncomfortably high.

Coincidentally, that is also something that grinds my gears.

What REALLY grinds my gears is when I catch myself doing it.

You know what really grinds my gears? When people use extraneous capital letters because they aren't sure whether something is a proper noun or not.
