I am not sure if this is new info here or not but I made a discovery that was delightful and wanted to share it.

I already had two followers, Sogg, and Virgil. I went to Ashbury and wanted to save the dog even though my 9 cha would not allow me to take another follower. (Yeah I am softhearted when it comes to dogs) So I walked up to the guy and instead of offering to pay him for the meal he lost, I threatened him (I saved right before this of course). He just gave me the dog and the mutt is now my third follower! And man does he rock! He takes things down in one or two blows that take 7 or 8 from me as master melee and a rather big (4-16pts) sword.

Anyway, like I said, this may not be new news but I was excited about it just the same.

Like someone stated earlier in a similiar thread: Worthless Mutt is like a Brute Fang on steroids

Plus he has no inventory. This is good and bad.

Good because he's never weighted down and always attacks at full speed. Also, you don't have to worry about him constantly picking useless shit up from the ground and walking around with it.

Bad because... well, he has no inventory space.

His constant howling gets on my nerves, too. The only thing worse is the bladder filling sound effect of purity of water.

the body would dissapear after a while so if youre not far enough in the game to buy it in the local herb store, be prepared to meet him in the ashbury castle

Have you done this? I ask because I read somewhere that he won't join you if you don't rescue him from being beaten to death by the pissed-off gnome. If it does work, then that'd be good to know.
