To answer your question, I don't think it does (I don't have Arcanum installed at the moment). See, my fav tactic when dealing with Rock Sprites, locked chests or inconvenient doors is to unarm the entire party and have at the buggers with iron-clad fists. Don't recall ever having to repair neither gauntlets nor boots, not even after the BMC mines.

Thanks for the Infor Dark Elf...would you see this condition as a game flaw or just something that would havebeen to complicated to put into the game? (providedthe situation is indeed, as you describe.

Probably too complicated or pointless to be included, in my opinion. Well, boots can be damaged, so the logical conclusion would be that gloves can also get damage, but still...

I’ve only had my boots or gloves damaged by fire.

My current character is a half-ogre doing LOTS of magic. Without using Hardened Hands and such, I'm doing 39-40 points of damage with every hit.

And you're unarmed, fighting fith your hands? If that's the case, then your post's bullshit.

Without using Hardened Hands and such that's impossible.

What's the maximum damage? Isn't it 10 (when not using spells...)

No, it can't. The maximum damage, without gloves and spells and other STR raising bullshit, is 10. I'm sure of it.

Yea, that is a rather big factor in your damage.

    It's only 15.
I know this off by heart as I have recently spent a few hours trying to change it.
Gauntlet damage (unlike almost any other attribute) cannot be changed in WorldEd, it has to be hexed. Bleugh.

I did succeed in the end, but only with normal damage not electrical. As far as I can tell gauntlets can only inflict normal damage.

Well duh? Why would a gauntlet cause other damage than normal?

Um...for the same reason that a sword would? Duh.

None, as far as I know.
    And your point is?

There are more magic / tech swords in the game than neutral swords. Also, who ever said gauntlets had to be neutral?
