To be, or not to be!

That is the question I am asking of you. Will my thread become a reality? Lets try to make it so!

If all of you that come here with some regularity are interested in letting me try, I have some great ideas for rp-ing. Let me know if there is enough interest to do so. I have story ideas ranging from 2 or 3 characters, to as many as are willing to play. Post only if you want to game, and tell me your preference of character: gender, race, life path(ie.-mage, warrior, etc.), and perhaps alignment too. I shall incorporate interested characters into the appropriate story. And then we shall see...

 

Being an RP forum veteran of sorts, I_'d be more then happy to see this place working again. What kind of thread is this going to be tho? Aracnum? D&D? Vampire?

I_ don't have a problem RPing in the Arcanum and Greyhawk settings but I_'ve never really played Vampire or really have any interest in the system for that matter.

That said, This I_ = me crap has to go before I_'m willing to make a serious effort at RPing in this place...

 

I will also enter into this thread, I am the same as Flink, I'll play Arcanum or something in the Grayhawk world (all though, I don't know much about Grayhawk, but I do understand D&D)

Life Path/Class: Rogue/Assassin. Possibly Cleric too, as my character serves a sadistic, evil God, and frequently performs ritual killings.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil; Always looking for an excuse to slaughter people.

I am happy to do a character that is not tech, is intelligent, and isn't one of those miniature characters (they are only good for punting)

In short, I will probably play a Half-Elf chick who will use some sort of magick and throw shit.

I'll come up with something more concrete when it gets going

Oh, and as far as telling our ideas and plans and such beforehand, that shouldn't go down, cuz that is the point of the RP.

 

Shall we begin with the five of us? I will give ya twenty-four hours to give me your decision. [ooc]Everyone let me know your characters to better suit our adventure to our characters. I believe that I the perfect senario to engage us. Ic and wolf your characters shall work fine. Although, wolf, we may have to work on your characters bounds a little. First off, I will need some answers.

This is based in the Arcanum world, eh? So that would mean we will have to use the Arcanum time line...so when exactly will this take place? Before Arcanum? After?

This is important information if I'm too create a character...a character needs a history and so I will create a nice history along with disciption of the character and so forth....need information! Yarg!

 

I'll be willing to participate. My character would be a female human, uses both magic and tech (little of both).

Anyway, my character will probably be a female elf. Magic user/fighter.

If it's ARcanum. I will play a noble knight-type character. Not magical or tech, but extremely prejudiced against guns, which he thinks are a coward's weapon. He is honorable, dahing,charming and strong. He is slightly slow, and easily tricked. Though once he finds out about this deception, he is quick to exact justice, according to the magnitude of trickery. He also hates lying, and will never commit such a *heinous(sp?) act".

 

well, let's see here. we have two females, one human and one elf; and a knight(which I guess is human?). And my character is going to be a kingdomless heiress of the human varietal. When Quethim replies with a character type we start with no further procrastinations.

attn: Quethim - it will be more closely to a D&D, although today I pondered a fantastic Arcanum twist that will fit nicely to it. the timeline would be well before the story of Arcanum unfolds as we know it. (is that enough!?)

attn: Mr. Wolf - your chaotic character will fit very well into my current idea with the ladies in our group. changing to a knight would work also, yet not create as much fun. (perhaps someone else would play a/the knight) I would encourage you to stick with your initial char. and pm me about the bounds thingy. I was referring to the any reason to kill factor and the plays nice until stabbing in the back(which is perfect)

 

I'm thinking of changing my original character to neutral evil. Maybe he'll be more of a cold, calculating killer. But he'll still have that all nice until it's time to split the cash. No god. Just number one. Tell me what you think. Also RP, I'm not sure what you want me to PM you about. What do you mean when you say "bounds"?

 

There's talk about starting a new "great adventure" thread so I'm kind of torn...

If I deside to join I'll probably go with a Lawful Evilsh type Dwarf. Old, scarred and battle hardened. Past his prime but still very capable of dishing out pain. A fighter to the core who even tho he's a dwarf has only very little technologikal aptitude. He'll always be scheming and won't think twice to break a promise if it means profit... And he has an eye-patch

 

I'll play. My character would be an unarmed specialist or a monk, if this is going to be D&D. Either way, he uses no weapons or armor, and kicks ass anyway. He is a half-orc, big, tough, and ugly. Just one question. How does one resolve combat in this type of thing?

 

Well, add another female character, cause I enjoy playing them female characters...not because they are sexy and I'm a big pervert, but because I think they seem color and such...

Anyway, I'll be your nice magic user, so I'll be an elf. My character is more along the lines of a dark elf, for her hatred towards technology and her recent history of destorying some major technology assignment...but after she was caught once...she decided to just ignore the technology and wait for technology to wipe out the human and dwarven races...

I think it best to start by informing everyone that there is no technology at the beginning of this quest-magick has ruled supreme for a long time. Although there is no technology when first we begin, this issue shall be rectified soon enough as ya'll shall see. It is perfectly alright for your character to keep a tech allergy or hate. Likewise it fine if your character has a tech affinity. Knowing these things in advance will let the rest of the group know how your character will react when the device/situation presents itself. sorry if my reply was not fast enough for some. My oldest was playing around on/in some Christmas boxes and fell off and split her forehead open on one of her sister's wooden blocks. (seeing as I was at the hospital with an injured child, posting was not my highest priority)

I'm inserting my monk as the "peacekeeper," due to his serenity and aloof nature. I'm changing him, by the way. Now he's an extremely attractive human male. He acts as if he doesn't know he's good-looking, however. When women come on to him (which happens often) he either ignores them, or acts confused. And it would be cool if the group doesn't know that he is a super-badass unarmed combatant...they just think he is exceptionally fit and well-muscled. Tell me if there are any problems with this.
