I have come across this episode of animated green lantern about a steampunk planet and a lantern guy powered by nuclear power and steam technology. (it should be named nuclear lantern instead of steam lantern, but anyhow). It was fun to watch.
If you have 22 mins to waste for some fun, go ahead!

was away from internet (I know, right! how can that be even possible in that age, but shit happens and the wi-fi tower in your region fell by a storm just before national holiday, volaa!)

Glad that you enjoyed it as much as I do. Here is another good piece of steampunk http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348121/ an animated movie "Steamboy". I almost fell from my seat with excitement when I saw the "machined platemail" in the movie!
