I'm sorry, I know this is old news but House of Lords looked like a good place to vent off. If you're still playing Bloodlines, as a loyal Troika fan, you should be somehow familiar with the two "unofficial patchers" and the bad blood between them.

One of them is Wesp, who often releases new versions of his patches, and changing stuff to his liking. He gets criticized for changing Troika's original intentions. After every version of his patch, he posts a thread in planet vampire (also gamefaqs Bloodlines forum and probably several other places)

One of Wesp's older patches was even mentioned here in HoL.

The other patcher is Tessera, who detests Wesp for no appearant reason other than what I mentioned above (changing Troika's original intentions to his liking with his patches).

While I don't know either of the patchers, Tess appears to be a hopeless sexomaniac. In addition to contributing to the true patch and hosting it in his site, he also designs custom nude models for Bloodlines and some other games, the most famous one being a Malkavian model with watermelon-sized boobs.

Anyway, the "true patch" can be found here (scroll down a bit):

You're almost a year too late.

Wesp has understood that some people don't like being forced to have sex with werewolves, so he's used his superior modding skills to make a BASIC PATCH with every newer version of his patch. The BASIC PATHC is basically the "true patch", but improved. They are the ones you want to download (unless you like the idea of being raped by that old bearded vampire who helps you in the beginning every time you talk to him). If you don't want any changes from the last 11 moths, and don't want an incredible amount of unavoidable sex, the "true patch" is the way to go.

Yeah, it might be old but it will help us a lot. The information are really old to listen but fresh to remind. :)

I recently played Bloodlines again for a month and tried tons of stuff, so I can give some advice for newbies who wish to play the game or those who are playing again after a long time like I did. Wesp > Tessera. There aren't really any changes (might be some really minor ones, but no dialogue or other important changes) in Wesp's patch and installer has options that allow you to disable new content. Also the new content is pretty much just faithful (up to a point that it's not even finished resulting in one very crappy level) restoration of unfinished content. There is one completely new weapon (WP shotgun) though and it is pure crap, but it is sold only by Mercurio at the very end of game and you don't have to buy it. I won't say anything about Tessera personality wise, but purely bugfix wise Wesp patch is vastly better than True Patch.

Only mod worth trying is clan quest. It actually has one quest (with good voice acting even!) in Chinatown that is vastly better than even the original quests in the game. Rest of the content is average though and has semi-bad voice acting though. Dunno how they got that one quest to be so good.

Camarilla Edition and especially Final Nights are very crappy though. They really don't even add much to game despite claiming to completely change the game. Pseudo-mods that have just few (I think Camarilla Edition has only one new quest) meaningless quests. Also stay away from arsenal pack as it's most horrible mod ever made since whoever made it didn't bother to make new animations (resulting in buggy animations on new weapon models) and even the new models are really crappy.

One mod that might be very good is the Antitribu mod though. Like all good mods it has been in developement for ages, but there seems to be possibility that they will actually release it soon. They say they have completed the mod and beta test has already progressed to 30%, but knowing how modding works I think it will still take about a year for them to release it.

A nice update on the different mods NamelessOne, it's good to hear a candid opinion on how they play out as I've never tried them myself (though the PlanetVampire forums are good, I get the idea that they're a bit of a play nice forum - so honest opinions are probably best posted on a more critical forum such as this). Personally much of the content Wesp restored I liked, particularly the Dragon's Breath Shotgun - though I guess that's more for having a shotgun that shoots fire rather than its combat usefulness.

From what I gathered about Tessera back in the day, he seemed like an antisocial dick; he claimed Wesp's patches were shit as they were more like mods than true patches and he stated his line of patches were better as they were more bug fixes for the original game. As a result, Wesp started dividing his patch into the Basic (bug fixes) and Plus ("restoration" - which Wesp takes a lot of liberties with as you've alluded to) patches so Tessera didn't have a leg to stand on.

As a result, he faded into obscurity and now makes creepy porno mods for anyone interested (though his website is practically dead - he even pulled his magnum opus porn mod so it is now only available to veteran forum members. I mean, what a complete jerk - I thought he was the one stop shop for vampire-tattas man!). Here's an example of a great "modification" he made for V:TM~B for the beach access signs that he graciously made publicly available to even lowly non-veteran members (NSFW, natch):
