Hey everyone! OK, I've played Arcanum 3 or 4 times now. Once without the Level 127 patch, and the rest with it. Now, I want to try some of these mods I've discovered here (great site, BTW!!!), but I'm not sure which I should try, which are compatible with which others, etc (BTW, what does AWIP stand for or mean?) A little guidance, please, so I don't use the wrong mods together, and create a bug/crash-nightmare for myself.
A:WIP stands for Arcanum: Work in Progress, it includes a relatively recent version of Drog's unofficial patch (UAP) and adds a whole heap of content that you may or may not like. The UAP fixes a lot of the bugs in the original w/o adding any new crap so in that case you may want to try AWIP if you've already played Arcanum 4 odd times. Also hope you're running the latest 1074 patch, most stuff requires it now.
Yah, I'm really impressed with DBT's list of fixes. Dunno if he fixed it, but the Ring of Influence (I think that's the one -- says it gives +3 CHA, +3 BE, + Persuasion, etc) never worked right for me... Also, the A-WIP sounds good, as it seems to give new quests/encounters. I tend to use the level 127 patch, because I prefer to only use Dog as a follower. I tried the others in my first 3 run-throughs, though.
That's a magickal item, isn't it? If so, it may only give full bonuses to a character with high magickal aptitude. It's always worth checking the 'Magick power available' part of the item description. If it's below 100%, that's probably why.
Welcome to the forum, Bubba Thudd! So far, the High-Resolution patch and the new Level 127 has had no problems being used with my hack. The High-Rez townmaps will also work if you make allowences. See the end of the A:WIP thread for details. As for the rest, use at your own risk. Some people have been able to load their data folder with all their favorites and had no conflicts, but I've also had the headache to trying to debug someone's "bad install" only to learn they added one small cheat and that caused all kinds of problems. Yes it does. A:WIP is being built with an eye towards maintaining the feel of the original game but adding more to do.

OK, so here's what I'm going to try, right? Clean install arcanum_en_1074.exe arcanum_hacks_arcanum50patch-0.0.1.zip arcanum_highres_HighRes1.1a.exe arcanum_rroyo_AWIP6.0.exe I'd like to use my custom pix as well... So what would be the correct order of installation/procedure? (please let me know if I'm getting tedious...)
So - (I think) 1) Clean install 2) 1074 patch 3) A:WIP 6.0 4) Custom pix * 5) arcanum50patch-0.0.1.zip 6) HighRes1.1a.exe * I'm even less sure on this one.
