For me it still works flawlessly. Don't let the hype get you!!! Stay with Win98 until you really NEED a new OS.

Don't go near Win ME. It's the tool of the devil. Me, I'm sticking to Win2K until there are a few XP service packs out.

Windows Me is the tool of the Devil! The spawn of the antichrist! The 'bad influence' of OS's worldwide - when HDD's are created, they are told to stay away from Me, because Me will permanently damage their sectors and make them weep.

Windows Me is the boyfriend you hope your daughter never has, the drug dealer you hope your son never meets, the kindergarden teacher you hope your little child never has and the person you hope never becomes your boss.

I am running the latest version of XP with 1.8 gig celeron and I love it. It very rarely crashes and when it does it comes right back. No more of that scandisk that takes forever crap. And the look is beautiful a true work of art, very easy to use and fun. I think it's the best yet and I've run Win 3.1, 95, 98, NT, CE, AND ME.

Windows ME stole my wife and murdered my children!

When I finally get my new computer together, I'm going to run WinXP. Hopefully by then a service pack will be out, although by some accounts XP breaks that Microsoft Rule Of Thumbâ„¢, and actually runs decently as it is.

Just for kicks I'm going to dual boot with one of the Linux distros. Probably either Debian of Slackware. I've always wanted to learn more about Linux, and these two seem to be the ones if you really want to jump into it with both feet.

I'd recommend Win2000 also XP seems to be pretty good (or at least not so bad) from what I heard. ME didn't want to show mouse movement correctly, when I moved it a little faster than at a snail pace it jumped and showed the position of the cursor with a few centimeters gaps - damn Microsoft must have some brilliant people on the pay list to screw mouse movement. Also there seems to be a lot of redundant trash in ME, and it seems to be gaining even more the longer you use it.
