Mystic Chest: Ring of Protection

so do you think that the ring of protection is a nice item to start with?

So far its the best I got next to a charmed shield and charmed mace (got those in 1 run)

 

nice for mage. I tend to collect them and give to magic based followers and if I'm magic based for me to use. I find they are rare.

 

Ahh thats nice to hear. I'm going to create a mage with this one so finally I got a good item.

 

It would be nice if you could get quality magic items from the Crash Site chest (Magick, right?). Has anyone had much success with any PC name in particular?

 

That's the chest we are talking about.

It seems that mod also influence the containance from the chest.

While playing with my other arcanum version it got difrent stuff...

 

Most curious - There's no scripting attached to the chest and it's set for M1 treasure. There's been a couple, three threads where people insist that certain names or backgrounds would improve your odds of getting cool stuff, but it really shouldn't happen.

Oh, and when I reworked the inventories I left the Magick chest listings alone because there was just too much stuff showing up, so it's still stock. This should mean that my hack would have no effect on the loot within.

So those are the items you could possible get from that chest huh?
That good to know since now I gladly that the Ring of Protection as I think its one of the best items of the listed ones.

Rroyo, could you create the same character as mine (the Shadow one)
Maybe diffrent verson also play a role ?

 

I had just enough time to do a quick test using Shadow, male, half-elf, and Educator.
What I got was a ring of protection, a ruby, an emerald, a lesser fatigue potion, and a mnura coin.

Another check using Marie, female, half-elf, inheritence, and maxed-out everthing constantly gets me a charmed robe and some gold.

This shouldn't be happening.

 

Yea thats what I got as well.
On my other version I get other stuff. It has the latest official patch on it alone I think.

And the Marie character gives me also a small charmed robe and 92 gold

Hmmm, perhaps there are multiple random generators, and the one controlling the chests is initialized from character information?

 

Are you also playing WIP40, Frigo?

 

I've got 5 copies of Arcanum installed, including AWIP 4.0, but I haven't got the time to play it throughoutly.

 

Thats very interesting. Just my luck though, when Im a dwarf i always seem to end up with large armor and when Im a halfogre i get small.
