Same for Jormund. Also if either Dante or Jormund are killed & resurected, you need to do the wait thing again.

    Hehe.

One of the first posts Shadygrove has on file here is about that very subject: getting Dante to wait. Hehe. Say, did you change names?

Master persuasion doesn't get you an extra slot. You already got that with Expert.

Look on your character sheet. With 20 charisma and (at least) expert training, you should have six follower slots. If you don't, you're probably an Educator.

Every four charisma gives you a follower slot so at 20 charisma you get five follower slots if you get expert persuasion you get a bonus slot making your max followers 6.
Educator background will -1 your max followers.
Dante,Thorvald, Jormund, & Dog do not need follower slots but you have to tell Dante and Jormund to wait after they have joined you to make them not take up a follower slot.
Murgo is also a free follower which is very useful after you leave S.H.
he is found in Vooriden he will help you retrieve a new altar stone for the priest but you don't have to do that quest for a quite a bit of time.
meaning that you can get 11 followers or 10 if you have the Educator background. :D

Charisma 20 - Prevents your followers from leaving,
Persuasion Master - Anyone will join with you, regardless of their reaction or your alignment 8)

Does anyone know if when you have 20 charisma and if you get Swyft from Quintarra who wants to go Tarant.
does she leave you if you don't go to Tarant fast enough still? If she stays she will be another follower :/

    Hello,
I'm new and have missed out on some part of your conversation.
Please tell me what you mean by 'free characters' (Jormund, Thorval and Dante)
I know dog needs no slot, but the rest ...
    :-o

I am also playing a Male Elf with the charlatan's protege background but i am an Archer it is the first time i have used a mage i normally used technology characters.
    :D

Jormund, Thorvald Two Stones and Dante also do not take up a follower slot but unlike dog have quest requirements.

    They are found
    Jormund - Quintarra
Thorvald Two Stones - Isle Of Despair
Dante - Black Root (The Sour Barnacle Pub)

    How to get them
Dante - join you when you accept kings taxes quest.
Jormund - You have clear him of murdering a mage.
Thorvald Two Stones - get him to come with you on the Isle of dispair

    Why does everyone play techies?
I know its simpler, but, I hate looking for schematics.

I have gotten 7 allies before.
Five normal ones, one from persuasion, dog, and one I dont know from what.
It was after Zen-Virgil episode I think. He came back and joined even when my slots were full.
    I also had a familiar. Invincible! 8)

If it works for Swyft it will also work for Murgo,Cynthia Boggs,Doc Roberts
    and Druella. :-o
that would make them stay free followers as well.

schematics give you extra skills which gives technology characters an advantage over mages.

I find playing techies more entertaining- more options of character development avaliable. And playing mages is usually easier- except the fact that mages make bad burglars. I don't mind looking for schematics, but if there is anything I hate in Arcanum, its being stuck without money right when the wise woman has an Arcane Leather armor for sale.

The flamethrower is a good gun. Not among the best, but good. Its slow and short ranged, but does good fire damage- and fire damage is nearly always better than normal one. Speed 7, range 5, damage 10-35 I think, not sure.
There are two kinds of robots in Arcanum- arachnids (normal, medical and poisonous) and automatons. All of them are in fact self- made free followers, and pretty good in fighting. Medical arachnids can heal you and don't need salves or bandages.

1.Flamethrower is a close range gun
2.you can make healing robots and very strong fighting ones they act as followers which can give you a huge advantage when you have a lot of them hehe.

I made over 100000gold selling stuff lol
There should be a magic spell that enchants items so that mages can do the same.
