What the hell is magick doing in the Industrial Revolution? It's a game and not a documentary. Arcanum is more "alternative Victorian" than Industrial Revolution, anyway. The Industrial Revolution is a vague term covering a series of technological advances from about 1618 (a steam-powered pump is invented for use in mines) to 1913 (Ford introduces his assembly line). Depends on who you ask really. Anyway, plastic was invented in 1907 which fits in well enough. To answer your question, I think that's the only plastic object in the game. Are we getting desperate to use this General forum or what.
plastic couch was a fan of Arcanum back in the Arcanum inn. He is gone now but the name stayed. Did you try to destroy the couch ?

Game developers give characters/things in their games the name of an active forum member. Ever played NWN: SOU? People, People, you don't understand! Of course technology is too pitiful in Arcanum to create plastic. Plastic (and the plastic couch) come from the (no longer known) hidden college of magic. The spells from this college are: beauty of Plastic: Raises the caster's beauty. wiffle ball: throws a wiffle ball. Inevitably, all creatures other than followers run after it, even in the midst of battle. floor of linoleum: turns the ground into a smooth, somewhat slippery tiled surface, causing many creatures to have trouble with their normal movements. Other creatures will stop and ask "how easy is it to clean?" Body of naugahyde: The target's skin becomes naugahyde, increasing both AC and beauty. The target can be (like madam Lil's couch) an inanimate object. Turning weapons and armor into plastic generally causes a feeling of revulsion among the citizens of Arcanum. Call plastic elemental: A plastic elemental appears in the target tile and attacks caster's enemies. It is easily damaged by fire and sharp weapons, but it will suffocate any enemy foolish enough to poke its head into the plastic folds; it's a pity that most creatures can't read the warning clearly printed on its surface.
