Is anyone willing to do a trade for Uranium and Sugar?

    I'm after:
    1. Rubber
    2. Coal
    3. Spices
    4. Water
    5. Furs
    6. Wheat
    7. Gems
    8. Fish
... in that order. Failing that, I'm willing to look at anything that'll benefit me (IE: I really have no idea what I'm doing but it looks like they'll offer me the most benefit at this time in population and tax growth).

Steel only reduces infrastructure cost by 2%. It's only useful if I really want to aim for Automobiles. At this stage, I'm aiming at growth and happiness. Both = more money. Money makes me happy.

Since you already have uranium, and you want some happiness, set your nation's position to "research of nuclear energy for power" or something. It increases your citizen income by .15 for every level of tech and improves happiness by one. Then, your only problem will be the levels of tech...
Try for wheat, aluminum, and water. That'll net you some beer, and improve your nation's happiness. Also, get gems and silver, they increase happiness and income at the same time. If you go for gold, silver, and gems, you get fine jewelry, and increase your happiness even more.

Yep, I've got the peaceful energy Uranium setting.

How do I do trades? I don't mean in the technical sense, I mean in the "finding people to trade with you" sense. Is it just a matter of trawling the list and making offerings to see what bites?

That's what I did, at least: look for Nations & Resources, then selecting your colour (for that extra bonus) and paging through enormous numbers of countries.

Of course there's many cleverer ways, right?

    The colour bonus is overrated.

Since color doesn't matter, your trade options are greatly increased. Just do a search on the resources your looking for, them send 10 of them an email requesting trade. Tell them what you have, and have them send you an offer if they're interested.

Dont trade with someone who's only been on the board for 5 minutes, they may never come back. Also, check the last active date, if they haven't been there for 15 days, they get auto-deleted!

jc zim (The GCs biggest nation) MAY be interested in trading if you gain entry into the GC.

At the moment I'm trying to convince him to go nuclear.

Well I have my back covered.

If all this fails I don't think they'll be worried about you. I suppose I'll try and keep a few others safe as well.
