I'm thinking about having avatars set by rank and position.

I'm thinking about having avatars set by rank and position. Those who hold office recieve a special avatar for that office while those who don't receive an avatar based on their House Rank. Just for an idea, I got some "gentlemanly" images together and put them with some positions and ranks. If we go for this, each of these would have a special name. EG: "The Cigar of Lord XYZ" and so on. Thoughts?

I voted for the rank system, but on the condition that the images are made less white.

I voted ranked, I like the idea and the images are pretty good but I agree with Xz, you could make them a tiny little bit better

Would this be a replacement of the member's own avatar (if any), or a second avatar like having a "rank mask" ?

* For two avatars at once: see the GrÃ¤mlins' forum (if you've been there).
* For avatar with rank mask: see basic CN (admin, NPO, etc).

Check my avatar on the forums. It still needs a bit of work but how about that? Custom avatars with House Rank images floating on top?

Custom avatars. Let people upload their own avatar and so choose what they want to have.

Some kind of ranking / position system like the one proposed.

A bunch of pre-set images in a gallery members are allowed to choose from.
