I really hate US polititians. This is an ILLEGAL use of the game, the only ones who are going to use it are sad, sad people, and they're bringing lawsuits against Rockstar and making them re-lable the game. Rockstar REMOVED it from the finished product and now everyone suffers becaus eof some hackers who get off on polygonal breasts. It's funny though, they (the politicians) never made as much noise about the killing, lawfulness and other crimes crimes in the series.

I don't see what the big deal is. No little kid is going to go out of his/her way just for that. Besides, that kid would have to have knowledge of how to do so in the first place. No child that I know of below the age of 12 would know how to do this (although I can imagine they could probably find out). But by that age they have probably already seen actual porn at some point, and this appearently is nowhere near that. The government is taking it way to far. These are people that didn't growup with video games and most likely have never played them either. They just want to rid the nation of video games as a whole and this is but one of many strikes against "our" source of entertainment.

That's a very sober assesment of the situation. I just wish the government would concentrate their energies on preventing 12 year olds from accessing porn instead of this.

I just wish people would finally realize that, no matter how hard they pretend to try, they'll never fucking be able to do that, and that we could probably benefit by spending our resources elsewhere.

I'm certain that the politicians understand that it is hopeless to fight against the hornyness of teenagers. However there is old people that don't get this, and these people got votes wich the politicians go for.

i wish parents would stop buying mature rated games for their 8 year olds, and then being shocked when the game contains material little Billy shouldn't see... i let my daughter watch south park, but you know, when she starts cussing at the age of two, i'm not gonna blame the creators. i'm gonna say "fuck kid, now i can't watch south park anymore. what the hell?"

There will always be ways for kids to watch what their parents might not want them to. Heck, I grew up with horror movies, I'd seen the Texas Chain Saw Massacre and most of the Terror on Elm Street and Friday the 13th movies before I began with school even.

Horror flicks were better back then.

but that's completely differnet. this whole case of bullshit got started cuz some woman bought GTA for her 8 year old grandson, and then got upset at the content. but you don't see this with movies. if a parent lets their kid see an r-rated movie, they aren't allowed to go sue the production company becuase the content is unsuitable for their child. the same thing should apply to games. if it's a mature game, it's not for the kiddies. people need to realize that games do not belong exclusively to children anymore... we've all grown up, and our games have grown up with us. you'll notice none of the people complaining are in their twenties or early thirties. it's all people with grandchildren. they are completely unaware of what the gaming industry is, or who it's targeted at... sorry, had to rant a bit.

I agree, but if we were in the politicians same position, what would we do, if anything?

    1. Rockstar is at fault. The ratings guidelines (both ESRB in the states and the OFLC here in Australia) clearly state that no hidden content must be present which can be unlocked via code or other means which could effectively change the rating. So no, you can't insert the latest porn video from Pamela Anderson, hide it with a config file tweak and expect to get away with it.
    2. It's funny that violence - something which we never want our children to do - is rated MA15+ but sex - something we want every person to do at least some time in their life in order to continue the human species - is a terrible, mind corrupting thing which must be kept away from the eyes of our children.

From what you usually see of her, I'd have to go with horror. She looks as if she is about 25 or 30 years older than what she really is. This also makes one wonder how much makeup she usually does use. I wonder if she knows she looks like this without makeup?

    Tsk tsk.

When you consider it, that makes a whole lot more sense, doesn't it?

That's just a smoke screen for the law suits and what not. Sex oriented games are published since ever.

I remember I played one where you were a porn producer, although it was all cartoon, it probably was considered ultra mature.
