Hello all, I noticed that as I tried to disarm a trap, Sogg Mead Mug, and later Loghaire, offered to help me. I tried going through all the dialogue options at the time, but to no avail. How do I ask my followers for specific skills? Cheers, --Piper
They just use their skill instead of you when you choose it in situations, that their level of skill is greater than yours. If you don't like it or want to turn it off (for example when you have 0 lockpick but want to use a fate point to open something and Loghaire still tries to open it for you), you can do it in the game options - "fallowers skills on/off" or something. And also, as Frida said, if ou wan't them to do something for you from the technological schamatics, you got to give them the ingredients anduse a dialog option. There should be one also for healing (should. But for example Jayna doesn't have one, which actually isn't a problem, because fallowers heal themselves, youself ane other fallowers automatically, when one is wounded).
Ah.... so if I pass Loghaire a schematic, then give him the ingredients for it, he can make it for me? Cool! --Piper
Be a technological schematic I meant that kind of schematic that fallowers learn by themselves, like Magnus with mechanics and smithy or Jayna with herbalogy and therapuitics. Unfortunately, there is no way to give a fallower a found schematic and force him/her to learn it.
Thank you! I was going to post another question I had last night, but solved it on my own: Followers don't level up further after you've hit level 50. *sniff* --Piper
Well, actually they do. I didn't see this in my own game, because I have version 1.0.7.0 and patching it to 1.0.7.4 may screw my polish version of the game, but AFAIK when you install the latest patch (1.0.7.4), after you hit level 50 you still recieve experience, but you don't level up. And after every 80'000 experience point you get, all your fallowers level up, untill they are also level 50.
I'm playing unpatched. I've solved the Magnus problem. He won't join after you talk to Bates. For some odd reason. --PIper
That's not an odd reason at all, the reason he agrees to join you in the first place is to check out P. Schylers and Sons. If you've talked to bates, you've either already been down there or you have no interest of going there. Hence there is no option for you to have Magnus join.
Ah! That was another question I wanted to ask. How do bribes work? I know you have to possess them, but... what do I do? Put it in their inventory? Use it on them? Use it on me?? --Piper
When a fallower is really upset about you and his reaction towards you is very low, a new dialogue option will appear when talking to him, which be something like this: You: "Hey, wassup man, are you angry about me?" Fallower: "Yo yo yo man, I don't like your style, you do too much evil, and I don't know how long will I stand this". You:"I'm so sorry, is there anything I can do to make you happy?" Fallower: "Well, some coockies/elven water/wine/etc could make things better." You: "Well, what a coincidence, I just have it with me, here you go." Fallower is happier, and his reaction goes up, but still isn't that great, at least he isn't suspicious any more. This isn't a way to make fallowers love you, but at leat they won't want to leave /kill you when you aren't always the most rightful person out there.
Ah.... *bing* another question! If the follower is of a higher level than you, and they reach level 50 before you do... do YOU stop levelling up? --PIper
Yes, there is a maximum for stats, the standard is 20, but this may have been affected by your race, gender and background choice.
