Download (courtesy of Dimensions of Arcanum): hellgate.dat (6 mb)

You have stumbled upon a town beset by demons. Two men, both deserving of your suspicion, claim the other is responsible for the siege. Not only must you find the true culprit, but you must also permanently close the Hellgate and save the town!

Really easy too. All you have to do is punch your way through the blockages to the west and enter the town, then kill the few demons there, kill whichever man you think is correct, and then 'kill' the portal.

I finished the module in about 20 minutes.

It was well written, but not very excitingly designed. The normal method of getting to the town involves fighting your way through lots of similar, repeating dungeons, that get progressively harder in order to train you up for killing the culprit.

However, I played it in single player mode, in turn-based mode, which makes it somewhat easier than real-time multiplayer, so my opinion is biased.

All in all, I find almost on a par with the original Vormantown mod. It is too short for any real serious multiplaying, and is somewhat linear and repeatative, with fighting being your only option through the module.

And I thought I was stuck, since I have never figured out who was the guilty bastard...
