Fuckin dammit, I've gotta written part of my internationally-recognised CAE Cambridge exams. I'm tired, especially by spelling "colour" instead of "color" and "centre" instead of "center". Initially I was tought Englidh as a yankee.... oral session with Listening and Speaking-with-man-10-years-older-than-you would be 17. I don't care which advantages this certificate provide, but it would be surely cool if I would get it.

That is why I continue to tell people that I speak American, and not English.

You should try visiting the UK sometime and getting outside of London, then you'll realize just how different the languages are. I watched a spelling game show once and got every one of the words wrong! And I'm usually an A student in 'English'. As we say over here, seperated by a common language.

    Good luck on your exam.

Well, good luck. The CAE is tougher than the FCE, but the main difference is that it's more boring. :) As regards the British/American thing, I must tell you that nowadays they do accept American English as long as you are consistent; that is, you can write "color" and "center" if you also say "gotten" instead of "got", you know what I mean?

So it's all or nothing? Well, I'm glad I'm not taking that test. My vocabulary fluctuates like the regularity of my cat.

I don't think we have those tests at all here in Aus. It's generally accepted that if you can't write, you're not going anywhere. (And even if you can, and write well too, you're pretty much restricted to freelancing for a good 10 years after graduation... *sigh)

Changing avatar and signature? Is this because of the conflict with your sister?

That's why you need to start writing as early as possible. Get discovered soon. That's an order from your direct Grossenschwaum.

I've got oral session (Listening and Speaking) today! Man (to whom I spoke) sucked very hard in English, but I remembered all those "phrases" such as "if I were you,...". I'm glad all this finished, and would get my results in August. I think I've got at least "C".

Nah, I just felt like it. My sister is paying in a multitude of small, but horrible, ways.

Bamboo strips under the fingernails? Giving her immortality (so you can show her the pain of death as many times as you want without her actually dying)? Giving her chocolate "eggs" and later telling her it was rabbit scat?

Something like that... my favourite was giving her the voucher for a free wax... without telling her I booked her in for a Brazilian... That was satisfying to say the least.

So your sister's going to have a nice arse with a little sexy landing strip on front while you're left with gorilla hair?

I'm confused. How is that a bad thing for her?

...Isn't the age of consent somewhere around 16 in Australia? Maybe that's Japan...

Its 16, they had a big thing on the news a few years ago about how you had to be 18 to be gay, but only 16 to be straight. Hence, I know the number.

    It weird:

12: to have your minors gun license, which requires adult supervision
16: To have sex, drive a car with supervision or buy a knife
17: To use both a car or gun unsupervised
    18: To drink alcohol

Some of these things are in the complete wrong order.

Sorry chief, no schoolgirls for you. Its 18 in Japan. Now England on the other hand is 16 - for everything, with 50% pregnant by 18! Whats birth control for?

Obviously the males here have NO idea how painful a Brazilian is. Ooooooog. Just think about it for a while, the penny will drop eventually...

And yeah, for some reason here it's 16 to have sex (although there are a few who ignore that...) and 18 to drink... Which makes about as much sense as a Hippo in a Trifle.
