    Welcome to Tenebris Ostium!

In this game you will play as a member of a group of people who have been forced together by the hand of destiny. You may all come from different paths of life, some righteous and others less so, and even though that might cause twists and turns along the way it will have to be put aside for the good of all.

Our story will begin in Caladon and will take us to other cities as well as uncharted places in the wilderness. There will be treasure- and monster hunting as well as a plot with the feel of a Lovecraftish thriller.

Character creation, then! All races are accepted, and you may stray any which way you please both in question of morale and technologic- and magic aptitude. We will not be playing with the actual stats of a PC game character, but for guidelines in terms of power, imagine a character at level 12 and make your hero thereafter (sorry ytzk). You may also have gear appropriate for your character, but please don't overdo it. You may not start with an automaton, arcane gear or a legendary artifact.

Here's a character sheet, for your cenvenience.

    Name: (character name)
    Race: (human/dwarf/elf/orc/gnome/halfling/half-elf/half-orc/half-ogre)
Age: (If elf, use human age and multiply by 10)
    Gender: (male/female)
    Appearance: (picture (no anime)/description/both)
    Personality: (morality/behaviour)
    Background: (character bio)
Skills: (the skills your character's learned in life)
    Pros: (certain perks, if any)
    Cons: (certain flaws, if any)
    Equipment: (your gear)
    Misc: (other useful information)

If you have any questions, just ask. Also, feel free to introduce yourself below. It's nice to know who you're gaming with.

Looking forward to playing with you!

Is this free for all or are only veteran members allowed? This would be my first time but I'm interested in trying it out.

    My character then:

    Name: Maurice Gregory
    Race: Gnome
Age: ca 50 (young adult by gnomish standards)
    Gender: Male
Appearance: Fat and bald (the evil kind of bald)
    Personality: Greedy, unscrupulous, lawful evil
Background: Born into a rich family, good education, newly appointed judge in the Tarantian court, but has already sent his fair share of half orcs to the gallows or the Isle of Despair. Oh, and he takes an abundance of bribes from gnomish businessmen to ignore their dirty dealings.
Skills: Haggle~4, Persuasion~3, firearms~2, Gunsmithy~3 (high IN, WP, CH; low ST, CN, BE; average DX, PE)
Pros: Rich, Rich, RICH!! Also fairly well connected in the legal world.
Cons: Quite unattractive, weak, slow and of poor constitution. A gentleman do not exercise!
Equipment: Expensive shoes, expensive suit, top hat, pocket watch, You know, the attire of an upstanding gentleman.
Misc: Half ogre servant? Could be skipped if too OP...

I guess you could have a servant, but, as with other NPCs, they're only powerful as long as other players accept it. If a player decides to kill a NPC, it's dead (you should of course discuss this first to avoid stepping on toes).

And nice character, by the way!

As I don't think we'll be getting any more players than this, I'll start the game in a day or two.

I like where this session is going. You managed to create three distinct and, so far, interesting characters.

I mistakenly assumed that the chief constable mentioned was old Henderson from the Whytechurch case. I've now noticed that Henderson is merely an investigator.

Easily fixed though: Either my character is wrong or Henderson got promoted.
