Gentlemen, start your characters (level 1).

Name, Gender, Race, Background, Biography, Attributes and Skills.

Or, post a screenshot of character sheet with a short description.

    Here's mine.

    Zalakar the One-Dimensional.

Male. Human. Born Zachary Thornton-Dyke, "of the Caladon Thornton-Dykes. Dabbled in the necromantic arts mostly on the darker side".

He now styles himself as 'Zalakar' and apart from being naturally spoiled and immoral, he suffers narcisstic personality disorder.

    Background: Only Child.
Spells: +2 Mental +2 Black Necromancy +1 Force.

    Gregory Soapstone
    Male. Dwarf.
Ever since a terrible accident while playing in the local quarry, Gregory has been terrified of water. He's normally rational, but in a bog, or even wading shin deep, he becomes terrified and inconsolable. He's not too experienced in combat, but he knows how to make a quality blade and healing salve should he get too roughed up. Known schematics; pure ore, balanced sword, healing salve.

Character: Pug Buckle. (I'm afraid this is new laptop to which Arcanum has yet to be introduced, so no screenshot from Pug)

Half-Ogre, Beat with an ugly stick (Beauty-6, Strength+2, Dexterity+2, all Combat Skills plus 1)

Pug does not remember where he was born. Something in his past however has left him with a slight mistrust of Gnomes. He is ugly, remarkably backwards but really rather good at hitting things. He is occasionally mistaken for a Lenny-from-Of-Mice-and-Men style 'gentle giant.' This is not the case, for alliteration distresses him.

    Background: Escaped Lunatic
"You have escaped from an insane asylum. You are extremely resistant to damage (+25% to normal, fire, electrical, and poison resistance) but you have no money, you have stolen some cheap clothing, and most people are frightened or repulsed by you (-25 reaction)."

Age: About 30 judging by the looks

Investment of first five character points:
    • Willpower +1
      Mental: Charm, Stun
Fire: Agility of Fire, Wall of Fire
    Biography:

Little is known of his pre-asylum past, even to Viktor himself. His excessive use of mental magic on his own mind alike psychoactive drugs might have something to do with this.

Just recently he managed to - how to phrase it - burn his way out of the asylum in which he spent about a quarter of his life (set himself of fire while he was at it too, but he didn't really seem to mind). He started his life anew and for the last few months he was just a vagrant walking by foot from town to town, doing his best to simply survive.

His only material possession is a dirty stolen rustic finery, but not much is needed to put a smile on his face - he enjoys the simplest things in life, such as mental or physical torture of small animals and self-mutiliation.

    ***MISSING IN ACTION***

    John Doe
    Half-Orc, male, age aprox. 20
    Background:
    Bandit
    Level: 2
    Stats: +2 perception, +2 firearms, +2 dexterity
Biography: Johns early life was a sick, twisted mess of hatred, violence and abuse. His mother was a factory slave who had surprisingly good looks for being a half-orc, and the factory foreman had a surprisingly large sexual apetite for women of orcish heritage. The poor woman was forced into sexual intercourse, which resulted in a baby. Johns mother died giving birth to her son, and for some reason the foreman allowed him to live. That proved however to be the limit of his fathers mercy, and the boy was thrown out into the streets at a very low age. What followed after that was several years of racial bigotry, violence and crime. John left the city some two years ago and became a gun-toting bandit, paying back every ounce of hatred he has recieved, bit by bit, to innocent travelers.

    Debutante
    Stats: +2 Dex, +2 Melee, +1 Persuasion
Age: 17 (disregard the character sheet)

    Hannah Brighton Clayborne

The daughter of Rumford Lord Clayborne, one of the premier noblemen of Tarant. Lord Clayborne is the majority shareholder of Unified Steelworks, thus making him one of the most wealthy and important men in all of Arcanum. Some years ago, his wife was raped by an orcish laborer. When she was found to be pregnant, it was decided that the child would be put away quietly. However, the child had the good fortune to take so strongly after her mother that she bore almost no sign of her orcish heritage. Lord Clayborne chose to keep her parentage secret and accept Hannah as his daughter. Hannah is not even aware that she is a half-orc.

Hannah is a child of high society: good looking, educated, and charming. She is also very healthy, and a vigorous fencer.

Nice narrative, Japes. Hannah is now level 2. I really got the sense of halforcishness shining through. Artfully done, sir.

To claim/spend your character point, post a brief example of using the new skill in character with an ooc note.

EXAMPLE: Walking through the garden Zalakar is attacked by an harmless squirrel throwing nuts. He rants and rages under the tree, dodging the missiles. (ooc - +1 dodge)

Everyone else is nearly there. Yay!

Pug Buckle, being a litte slow, neglected to spend his five shiny character points.

Having time to rectify this he now spends three on strength and two on melee.

    Felix Pale
    Human, Male, Age 21
    Background:
    Bookworm
    Level: 5
Stats: Willpower +4, Meta college +3, Divination +3
Biography: Having been raised in Tarant by a family with means above average, there was never much need for Felix to engage in labour of any kind and, since he didn't fancy physical activities much, he took to reading books at a low age in order to keep himself occupied. For some reason or other, Felix dabbled into writings of magic and became completely enchanted by what he read. At 16 he had found and joined the Gentlemens Mages Guild in Tarant, but he was soon disappointed by their ideology. Apparently it was not gentlemanlike to study the practice of magic, only the theory would do. But Felix craved more than this, and started experimenting on his own in an old cellar he was able to rent. He did in fact uncover some arcane techniques during his time in the cellar, but knew he would have to journey outside of Tarant if he wanted to learn more.

Hannah Clayborne now has the Mysterious Stranger perk from Fallout, where a silent gunslinger (John Doe) can appear to help out in fights.

Nice to see some harmless, but devestating, magick.

I rule Read Aura as a kind of mind-reading.

Also, Meta Abuse works in my universe, but only with the Reflection Shield technique and at a high fatigue cost. Dwoemer Shield abuse is ruled out for now. Furthermore, any permanent spells are reversible.
