    Hello, Experienced Ones!

I'm now downloading Arcanum Demo and have already read A LOT of impressions on it from the other people.

I'm a little bit confused though: the official site says that the required video RAM of your PC to play Arcanum is 4 megs. The readme file of the demo is saying that 8 megs is the minimum.

Help me to make a decision, guys - should I continue downloading the damn demo and IF it will run on my PC, which has ENOUGH hardware on all the specs EXCEPT the video RAM (mine has about 4).

Fallout Tactics is running fine on my machine. Will it be capable of running Arcanum Demo?

I don't have a machine with only 4MB of video memory, or else I'd test it for you.

I guess the only thing I can say is to continue and let us know in this thread.

Geez, Snake- you asked this on the V13 forum yesterday! We all need you to be the test case!
    Be brave!
    Be strong!
    Be...well, give it a shot.

I'm pretty curious to see how it goes- it should run, if not well, and I'd kinda like to be able to put this on my laptop...

    Yep, man!

I'm downloading the file via modem and have already downloaded about 70% - it's to late to step back!

Surely I'll let you all, guys, know...

It runs fine with a 4 MB video card, thats what I have(ATI rage pro). System memory is more important(more so with the final than the demo).

Cripes, GA, my cellphone is faster than that!

    *gives pretzel*

Say ratster, is that 4MB card AGP by any chance? I'm wondering if it'll handle it if it can't hit system memory for video...

It took me about 10 hours on a single ISDN. That's pretty fast for an ISDN.

My CGW demo took me 30 seconds to walk to the mailbox and back. I was still at 89% downloading the 616 demo at the time. (80% in under 2 hours, the last 20% in another 6 hours. Damn overloaded servers..)

Then I got the silly demo.exe in about 1 1/2 hours.

Cable rules. So do free magazines. <writes CANCEL on the CGW bill> Whee!

    <skwerly wanders off, giggling>

Gridfly- yes it is AGP, but it's not a card it's integrated on the MB.
