Well before I actually decide to get it, can someone tell me if the multiplayer is any good or something? Cause I love to play games online and this game looks like it will be good online and since I love to play Dungeons and Dragons I want to start making maps and stuff, so could someone tell me if the map maker is any good?

Read reviews Quethim...the single player story is supposed to be good, but the multiplayer component is reliant upon who you play with and the maps you are playing on. So go ahead, make maps. Good luck finding people to play with.

Neverwinter Nights got a 10/10 in the latest >PC Player.

Singleplayer is great. Multiplayer is even better if you find a good Dungeon Master and some good roleplayers.

(And even though it won't have Linux support out of the box, there will be a patch made available soon!)

Well I got the game, there is now just one problem, my computer will run it, but, it will not show anything, I got a crappy video card and can not even upgrade to g-force 2 because my mother board can not use that. But in like 2 weeks I should have a new mother board, a new video card, and some more ram. Plus I got a virus so I need to reformat my computer.

Being no computer specialist, or a doctor, I can surely tell that reformatting your hard drive will not cure you of any disease.

That being said, you probably will need to buy more than you think.

If you buy a new motherboard then you will probably have to shell out for a new CPU too. The architectures have changed within the last year or two.

Also, depending on what soundcard you have, you might find you have to buy a new one of them too - not many boards still have ISA legacy support (or even slots for them) so make sure you have a PCI soundcard.

On the plus side, there is no harm in doing a full upgrade!

There is, however, harm to his daddy's wallet. :p

    Hahahah, so true loo!

I'm a little leery of upgrading - I have the money, but I just can't justify the expense. I don't need to upgrade, so why should I? It's expensive, and I don't play enough high-end games, or run enough high-end applications/processes/things like that to justify it.

The only games that lag up on my computer that I have are Morrowind and Warrior Kings, and even then it only does it for a couple of seconds. But I wonder about a few other games I want to get. Mainly Warcraft 3 and Sea Dogs 2. If I have to upgrade again, My mom will probably kill me before I even get to explain why I need it.

    There's a thought ... I could ask my mum for a new computer. I wonder what she'd say ...

    "Egads, boy! Are ye daft?"

Um, yeah, that's probably what she would say. Something to that effect..

    Possible responses include:
    • Uncontrollable laughter
    • Asking if I'm on drugs
    • Some kind of bargain where I get a new computer if I buy her a house
    • Is the one you have got broken?" followed by an inability to comprehend that I could need a new computer even though the one I have isn't broken.
    • Small, baffled pause followed by asking if I have remembered that it is my brother's birthday next Monday.

Actually, my poor mum is in for an angiogram on Friday, so I should be asking myself what I can do for her.

If your computer can run Morrowind, then NWN should be no problem. I don't own the game but it is generally viewed that single player is pretty good if not a bit boring at places, and multiplayer is still work in progress. A lot of avid dungeon masters are not good programmers, but alas they have to be in order to make their roleplaying a possibility. The toolset for making maps and campaigns uses a C language for scripts and such. Actually I passed NWN for Arcanum and I think I made a right choice, although the multiplayer in Arcanum is virtually unheard of.

I've got all the RPG loving I need for a while from Morrowind. I'm thinking about picking up Warcraft 3 though, but I'd really prefer to try the full version out before I buy it though. If I like it, I'll get it.

Time to ask my friend about his warez :D.

Thanks for asking. I spoke to her just last night, actually, about her results. The doc said she probably has a better condition heart than he does. All her arteries and everything in tip-top shape.

That's very good news, but she still doesn't know where her constant shortness of breath is coming from. I think they're checking her lungs next.

Glad to hear everything checking out so far. May it continue to do so is my hope.

I just bought it yesterday. It was a choice between that and NWN so I bought Warcraft 3. It is pretty good.
