Ooooh we're going with the "spend time" trick, are we? Well these are the games I have spent insane amounts of time on, even though they are by no means my "all time favorites" (it's quality that counts):

The Aethra Chronicles (really old shareware RPG - check it out)
    Unreal Tournament
    Half Life
    Civilization
Command & Conquer (mainly the first one)
    Dune 2
Covert Action (ancient Sid Meier game)
    Death Track
Wing Commander 2, 4 and Privateer

I probably left out a few, but these are the games I've played a fair amount.

Oh, and Eros, I can't believe you actually listed that piece of shit Vampire game. I actually like the pen & paper game a lot (and still play it regularly) but Redemption just sucked. IMO it had great graphics and atmosphere, but the shitty gameplay prevented me from getting very far. I just got real bored, real fast with it.

I had a bit of trouble with VTM as well. I expected ti to be really good, but never really managed to get into it. It just seemed a bit dull, and particularly easy to understand how to progress the game.

I played Wing Commander quite a bit, but nowhwere near enough to make the list. Privateer was great, but it took me two days to finish on my first attempt and didn't seem to have a lot of replay value.

Did you anyone play Frontier? Come to think of it, that could well be on my list. I know I played it a shedload of a longer period of time.

VTM Rocked for me it was the only fully linar rpg that I have ever enjoyed. Did you guys wait for the patch? The patch made 100% differance in game play. I love that you can replay it and it don't take all year to get to the end again with different charecters. I liked the music 2.

Actually, New Zealand Story was a jump'n'run on the Amiga which I spent incredible amounts of time with. At that time I didnt own a computer myself, so I went to a friend and spent every minute there playing that f* game. Problem was: It had no save function (those were the days...) so I had to start from scratch every time. I knew each of the first few levels from sleep... Some day I was nearly finished (only two levels to go), And then it crashed 'cause it was warezed and the disk somehow corrupt.
Ah well, I never finished that one, but I spent a silly amount of time with it. And it had a very "compelling" arcade soundtrack too.
Maybe I should get an amiga emulator and finish it, so I can get my peace...

Heh, I think I remember Lords of Magic. If I remember correctly it could have been a much better game if the computer tried to put up a challenge and the terrain couldn't be used to such a great advantage (that the computer couldn't figure out)

I still played it a fair bit though...long ago...

Have to add Grand Theft Auto.

I Just played it yesterday for the first time.

Press enter and pull a driver out of his vehicle and onto the street. Then kill cops, steal ambulances or firetrucks, and blow up school buses.

It doesn't get better than this.

GTA is pretty cool...I like setting up a car fortress on the highway then wasting the cops who come too near.

I can't believe I forgot this one: BAndit Kings of Ancient China. I reckon it comes in at number 2 on my list.

If I could get a copy of that from KOIE (with updated graphics/sound) I'd be playing it right now (instead of RULING Civ3!)

Please don't accuse me of just bumping my own thread, because nothing hurts more than the truth.

    Top five most-logged-hours-worth-games

lets see... since i still dont have arcanum (tomarrow baby!) i will have to take it off the list.

    1. RollerCoaster Tycoon
    2. Jedi Knight
    3. Diablo 2 (expansion also even thought im sick to death of this game)
    4. Starcraft and Broodwar
    5. Rogue Spear

hmm, no rpgs on that list (Diablo 2 is not an RPG folks, its action.) but arcanum will become #1 im sure.
