Whenever a lyric from a pop song strikes you as particularly uninspired, post it in this thread.

For my money, nothing is as uninspired as Pink at the moment, although I'm sure it won't be long before she's outdone.

Not that I know a whole of Pink's work, any song about evil clowns ticks many of my tickleboxes.

One line that has always pissed me off is "You and me, what's going on? 'Cause all we seem to know is how to show the feelings that are wrong."

From the otherwise decent Oasis song Don't Go Away.

Before the season gets too far away from us...

Seriously? Your contribution is equal to what a calendar would provide.

Katy Perry for mayor of New Orleans!
"I'm sorry your homes are under 18 feet of water, but look at how the water droplets refract the sunlight!"

I'm going to go ahead and call the entirety of that song lyrically appalling.

Since when do fucking plastic bags want to fucking start again for any fucking reason even if they are fucking sentient. I mean seriously. And that's not even the worst of it, the majority of songs in pop culture/on radio seem to be filled with crap like that.

Thinking I'm going to be sticking to AM Radio from now on. Shanai Twain might be a sexist prig and a bit of a bitch, but atleast she communicates that well.

Much as I love blues music, lyrically any combination of "I woke up this morning" and "I've got the ...... blues," seems to do. Add a smattering of misogony and you're there.

"I have a hard time missing you baby, with my pistol in your mouth
You may be thinking about going north woman, but your brains are staying south"

Perhaps not uninspired but fucking scary.

Also your early blues musicians have a tendency to put "Well" in front of a lot of lines.

It's pretty much an unspoken rule in old-school blues that you will sing one line, then sing the same line only adding "Well" or "Yeah" at the start. You then sing a third, rhyming line.

Blues lyrics are never anything to really write home about. Still love the stuff though.
