For some reason, for me, getting dumped (or any other kind of woman-related cold-shower experience) is always preceded by winning lots of money in poker. The opposite is also true(ish), though more in a self-fulfilling-prophecy kind of way; I lose a lot of money in poker, I assume I'm going to be hot stuff for the next week or so and my womanizing ability is enhanced. The second thing is a psychological thing, of course, but the first is really freaky. Last time I got dumped, it was preceded by winning two poker nights in a row. Last time I got blown off by this chick I had an insane crush on (not-thinking-straight-for-days-on-end insane) it was preceded by a really succesful poker night as well.
