Yeah, but you only really get the best stimulus out of experiencing both at the same time.

I shouldn't have to turn the brightness on my screen down just to read this forum. It's a goddamn production in and of itself.

For what it's worth, i find your current signature to be worse on the eyes (among all the black / red) than the proposed avatar. Not that I mind either of them.

I don't think Xiao's avatar is hard on the eyes so much as it is disconcerting to see that happy go lucky chick in a sea of cynicism and discontent.

I found the one with the two guys a penis touching one of their faces a bit hard on the eyes.

Puppy, a little help getting rid of these please?

I’ll get right on it.
Xiao’s yard is kinda full.
I’ll just scatter the bodies around Forks, Wa.
DF could help me with that.
We’re both within driving distance.

Sound like a good plan to me.
Step 1: go with retirement of avvy plan.
Step 2: when acceptable avvy is found replace current avvy and un-retire original..

I had two ideas the day before yesterday, yet luckily I didn't have time to post them. Luckily, because now I can see how that which I considered awesome turned out to be meh, while my "jocular Lou" actually looks like "retarded Lou" when there's no normal Lou for comparison. Ah well.

It was said that the least glowing suggestion with the shine was still hard on the eyes. How about this?

I tried zooming in, and I can say with some certainty that what you see there is an extension of a chestplate. The whole point of that recolor was to eliminate hot colors as much as possible from the picture though. That place that a bright yellow - which didn't really fit. I'll take another look into it sometime, maybe.

By the way, instead of a shine, can't you add a "digital screen effect"?
(Spoiler is about the very beginning of KotOR, not really a spoiler but still)

Kinda something like what you see in KotOR when Carth Onasi contacts you on the Endar Spire at the very beginning of the game, if you have "Frame Buffer Effects" on

You should know that screens not working properly due to magnetic fields is very nuclear apocaliptic, considering all the EMP generated and such (we'll assume enough time has passed that there's only interference and not a shockwave of electromagnetic wave that'll fry any digital equipment)

Thing is, if we'll look at Lou's in-game sprites, we'll see that he does have no such thing like a chest plate - the space, which is yellow on the talking head, is uncovered on the sprites. Plus, if the yellowish region would be an armor, I don't think there would be enough space for his massive Super-Mutant neck.

I'm a bit confused here. Could you provide any pictures to illustrate what do you have in mind?

The hardening effect of that one was applied elsewhere.

This may be surprising to most of you, but I like to arse around.
Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, I poke out my tongue at you.

EDIT #1 & #2: Minor corrections of several pixels. Nothing to worry about.

I like Mesteut's recolor, but maybe the eye should be a brighter shade of blue...

Yeah, brighten the blue a bit and I'll vote for it.

On another subject entirely... Mmmmm, Carth...

Also have the tongue sticking out, that's classic.

Sprites hardly ever look like the portraits of the characters in games I've decided. Take Virgil for instance, his portrait is without a hood, however when you first have him join your party he is wearing a hood.

The eye with a brighter blue:

I could work on the sig too, but I doubt I can match the colors. I could try in the future, or someone else can do it (before me).

And Muro, I don't know about the jaw enlargement. I think it might be because I used the tongue out picture to replace lost colors, enlarging the jaw in the process. I did remove all aspects of it except the chestcolor though, so I'm lost.

**edit** Gotta bump up the brightness a bit and adjust contrast. Forgot to tune it. It can be done in any image program save MS Paint though.

**edit #2** Did the sig too, and got the brightness/contrast tunes in:

Notice that Virgil doesn't have just one set of sprites, plus none of them are his alone. Lou is different, since the sprites he uses are uniquely his. In such cases in the Fallout games (Lou, Myron, the Master or Horrigan for instance) the sprites match the talking heads.

Hmm... That makes me wonder, what does the community think about merging the ideas, that is recoloring the tongue showing set in the way Mesteut did his recoloring? Yes? No? Fuck off?

Mesteut wrote:

I say, an avatar without a matching signature would be just cruel.

The tongue showing avatar was made from a different screenshot, in which Lou's head is under a different angle and his lower jaw is lowered.

Well, gods be damned. You got the message while I got the fixed picture and the accompanying signature in by edit.

You'll have to get in the correct "Muro" yourselves, still. Not good at writing, that's me.

:looks at the avatar:
:looks at the signature:
:looks at the avatar again:

Something's not right with the eye. It's good on the sig, while on the avatar it looks flat, blurred. If you don't mind...

Fixed, I believe.

EDIT: The link was down.

ANOTHER EDIT: Added a matching sig.
