i think i might be getting wrong information so i just want to clarify.
how do the mods work exacly? i run unmodded arcanum. if i install car arcanum, can i select between which one i want to play in the option, or do i have to reinstall arcanum to play the unmodded again?

OK - When you install Car-Arcanum, several changes are made, so yes, you would have to reinstall Arcanum to play the un-modded version.

OR - If you have enough room on your hard drive, you could have Arcanum, Car-Arcanum, A:WIP, and Arcanum 1.5 by simply copying the entire regular Arcanum game into an appropriately named folder then installing the mod to that particular copy.

Start the modded games from the Arcanum.exe of each modded game and you're in business.

I haven't really read any forums except modding and scripting, so maybe you could help me out... what's Arcanum 1.5? I've been mostly just working on my own mods, but i wanted to install A:WIP, so i figured i might as well do multiple installs of arcanum with other complex mods while I'm at it.

It's a Russian-language expansion pack made by a fellow called Gentle Giant or GG.
