As long as we're mired in controversy...

Edit: In case anyone wanted an 'Other' option...

Since I'm a US citizen in this hypothetical, I'm going to plead the fifth amendment.

None of the above. Unless a decent third party candidate comes along, I'll just abstain. I expect Hillary will win pretty handily; not a pleasant thought, but probably safer than a Trump administration.

Apparently the results are only viewable after voting, so of course I went Trump. I was thinking of making my own thread on the topic, but wayne beat me to it with this thoroughly exciting affair.

I was wondering, what are people's predictions for Trump? As in, we've already had some Republican Voter-Registration card burning from senior members when he became the "presumptive nominee" but the national convention is a few months off - how to do people think the party will react to Trump in that time? Any other predictions at all - like record numbers of people abstaining, or Trump winning in many states were Sanders won the primary due to both of them being populists in one shape or another?

I feel bad for America, because if Trump is the Republican candidate he will undoubtedly win in some states, and given his pretty much racist sexist xenophobic attitude that doesn't look good. People in the UK joke enough about UKIP being xenophobic wankers, and their popularity has certainly risen in recent years (they're pretty much the only reason I wouldn't want us to have a proportional representation system), but they're still way less extreme and way more tactful than Trump - and that really is saying something.

It's also a complete turd sandwich for all the Republicans who wanted a decent candidate, and now have a choice between the lesser of two evils - which I'm sure many may think will be voting Democrat purely on the basis of keeping the asshat out - or just abstaining. Then again, I guess with the way he's more or less salted the earth with regards to the latino and women vote, maybe normal Republicans will be able to safely abstain after all.

You got a little simpsons clip for everything, don't you? Anyhow, I'd vote for Bernie but it seems unlikely he'll beat Clinton in the primaries. It's a shame really, since it's actually against a madman like Trump that someone that far to the left (Americanly speaking) would have a chance to win. Still, he has untainted socialism in America and that's no mean feat. And it's not like the presidential election really matters when both parties are equally enslaved by warmongering corporate masters whose power is derived from the blood of exploited workers.

Was honestly expecting Trump to win by a landslide in this poll, but then I remembered there can be no landslides here with 3 and half people active and barely few more lurking these forums.

And who took my fancy-shmancy avatar away? Bastards.

In this poll I voted for Trump, which approximates my IRL sentiments. I want Trump to win but don't necessarily want to be even partially responsible for him winning, if that makes any sense. I think having a businessman run the country is an overdue experiment, and while I prefer a private sector goon in office over a career politician, Trump's lack of decorum relative to a proper politician discomforts me. I fear that if Trump were to say the wrong thing in the wrong way to a foreign dignitary that would pitch us into an otherwise avoidable war. In any case, I'm old enough now that I don't need to worry about the draft but also old enough to wish that Perot were the business option, but I still don't want a Trump victory to be in any way traceable to me.

Perhaps I'll vote for Trump and then move. Where do you live and what is it like?

I guess so, except for Truman, Bush, Carter, Calvin Coolidge, the other Bush, Hoover, and Warren G. Harding, to varying degrees.

I don't really understand some of Trump and his supporters' ideas, let alone agree with them. When was America great the last time, and what about all the shit that made it not great then? When did it stop being that way, and what about all the shit that made it great then? Does he really just mean "make American trade great again and hopefully all the other stuff will take care of itself"? Does 'Muslim' mean 'person from the Middle East', or is there a way to test if immigrants (maybe from elsewhere) are Muslims? If Trump thinks threatening the Mexican government (to make them pay for his wall) with a cessation of the funds they receive from illegal immigrants is the right thing to do, why doesn't he just do it anyway? He'd be able to build two walls a year with that money, or pay for his reduction of taxes, or swim around in it Scrooge-McDuck-style.

As a brief aside, I like how the tagline for the next Purge movie is "Keep America Great", vaguely insinuating that "greatness" Trump would introduce would be similar to a night of horrific crime and terror. Either that, or he's the kind of person who would genuinely want the Purge in the first place - to get rid of all those damnable Mexicans.

Personally I'm hoping that they arm the airport security a colour chart and the questions, "Are they a funny brown color? Do they have a beard?"

I mean, that's a pretty foolproof system right?

The only one that IS qualified to be the next president is the Great Cthulhu. For him everyone is equal....we all are cattle to him. God! More and more the whole presidential elections is starting to look like a bad reality show. It will be less painful if we all just nuke ourselves than going to be dragged into a senseless World War by Trump when he is going to be a president. The only one who probably will be happy is Russia.

It seems that the House backed the right horse again.
Bet you regret posting this now. The evidence is forever stored in these everlasting archives. So where are you planing on moving?

If Forever wants to hold me to my musings, it can go nuts. Also, I didn't vote for Trump and I still get to watch all of the sore losers rage quit to Canada.

Nobody gave me any good suggestions of where to move! I've had my eyes on Brazil for awhile, but I guess their politics are just as crazy.
